Success is subjective, as we all have different goals and ambitions unique to our personalities. These goals can be professional, financial, personal, or related to other interests. However, regardless of the goal, everyone wants to be successful at whatever dream, big or small, they set their minds to.
Success doesn’t have to be defined by superficial markers like fame and fortune; it can be based on what one decides. Everyone has a different perspective on success, some think of it as being able to purchase a home or travel the world while others think of it as achieving certain goals. The bottom line is: success is boundless.
Despite all the pitfalls and failures along the way, people with the passion, drive, and intense desire to succeed never give up. Instead, they take the time to reflect on how to fix their shortcomings and come back working at it with full zest. The thing that needs to be remembered is that the sense of failure is all in one’s mind. But if it is viewed as a stepping stone, one can mold this sense of failure into an opportunity. With the same passion and drive, Olga Nikoza entered the fashion industry.
Born in St Petersburg, Russia, Nikoza’s mother and grandmother both loved sewing and inspired her to design clothes. She learned sewing by watching her mother lay out beautiful designs. From a very young age, she started designing dresses for her dolls, this took an interesting turn when she learned to make her clothes.
Nikoza’sastonishing insight and innovative styles captured the attention of many girls in her school. Her friends started to ask her to design dresses for them as well. Thoughts of unique designs came naturally to her as she loved exploring her design skills. Soon, she was able to convert breathtaking designs into beautiful pieces of fabric.
When the time to choose a career arrived, Nikoza’sparents insisted she getsan education in the field where it would be easier for her to get a suitable job. Her parents felt that the fashion industry was very tough and that she would not be able to compete in it, so she decided to get a Master’s Degreein Public Relations and Communication. But knowing her extreme passion for fashion, she later, moved to London and enrolled at Saint Martin school and studied there for a year, however, it became difficult for her to pursue full-time college because she was unable to support herself. So, she gathered the stamina and started finding a job to stay in London. After striving to get a job, Nikoza finally found one in a real estate agency, where she worked day and night and eventually managed to achieve her goals. Her consistent hard work enabled her to open her real estate agency.
Shortly after meeting her husband, she moved to New York and started her journey to immerse herself in whatever the fashion industry had to offer her. After studying for several years to become a refined fashion designer, Nikoza eventually created her swimwear line in 2019, which was entirely designed and sewn by her.
During the pandemic, when all the industries were facing a huge setback, Nikoza found out that a small family business in Greece was open, and to utilize her free time. She worked remotely and sent them her designs, which were much easier to manufacture and ship during the pandemic, and that’s how her jewelry line was founded.
Nikoza kept the theme of her jewelry designs based on butterflies and the reason to do so was and still is very dear to her. Growing up, she and her grandmother used to collect butterflies of different shapes and forms all over the house as they were quite certain that butterflies bring luck and happiness. Nikoza’s grandmother was used to putting a butterfly accessory or embroidery on her clothes back when she was a child. So, when the time came to select a logo for her company, a butterfly was an obvious choice. To Nikoza, a butterfly always represents beauty, femininity, and freedom. To her luck, no one had ever used a butterfly as a logo, so she trademarked it with great enthusiasm. Currently, Nikoza’s main focus is her collection of swimwear, for which she chooses her fabric quite attentively.
Another factor that Nikoza takes very seriously is to accept models who represent her brand and participate in her fashion shows of all different body shapes, skin colors, and beauty types as she firmly believes that while everyone in this world has different body shapes, the real beauty lies within the soul and not the outer self.
Undoubtedly, all of Nikoza’s fabric designs are sustainable. With her brand growing more extensive and successful, she surrounded herself with professionals with a motive to nurture her brand. Moreover, as a designer, nothing gives Nikoza more inspiration than to see her creation walking down the runway, as not that long ago, they only lived in her imagination.
