Doctor, producer, entertainer, and entrepreneur Savoy Brummer is truly an inspirational figure for many to follow. There is a saying that “you only live once,” and people like Dr. Savoy Brummer are proof that if we live a life to its fullest, one can be enough. He is one of those who are dedicated and ambitious about their dreams and life goals. The Savvy Docc is someone who never stopped accomplishing success and never gave up on any hurdle on his way.

Savoy was born to shine. He graduated from Howard with a 4.0 GPA and went to the number 1 medical school in the country, NYU. Then completed his residency at an Ivy League School, the University of Pennsylvania. Being affiliated with such prestigious colleges, Savoy Brummer knew he had to work hard and deliver the excellence that he had always possessed.

Dr. Savoy Brummer always wanted to make a difference in this world. While many people aim to earn big cheques or make incredible records in life, for him, true success was to help the ill and save lives. He stated, “Medicine was always my passion. I come from a family of educators, but I’m the only medical doctor. Helping people brings joy to my heart, and there is nothing more satisfying than saving someone’s life.”

Being raised in a racist society, Savoy Brummer always wanted to support and uplift the black community in America. His father was his biggest role model. He taught Savoy how to block negative voices in life and focus on dreams. He was always there when he needed him. His father worked hard and represented the highest standard of excellence and character. To this day, he has inspired everyone around him, including his kids, to be the best of themselves.

Talking about the racism, he faced as a kid; Savoy stated, “Growing up in Arkansas was tough. People constantly called me and my brother N-word. I had teachers recommend that my brother and I not take advanced courses without any reason. My mom was an educator and had to address the school.” Savoy revealed that there was a time when grown construction workers yelled at his brother’s friends and him to “beat the N-ger up.” “Professionally being able to support black CEOs as a fellow executive and board member allowed me to help Medicine reach the underserved. It’s a professional privilege to work alongside the very few AA CEOs in healthcare,” says Savoy.

As the saying goes, “There is only one way to change the world; change yourself.” Savoy Brummer understood this phrase and wanted to help his community by spreading awareness about racism in the United States. While it is no secret how much American society has dealt with racism in recent years, including police brutality in many cases. Dr. Savoy wanted to promote equality on every platform.

Dr. Savoy Brummer was always aware of the fact that only a handful of people were responsible for such discrimination, as he was supported by people outside of his community as well. To pursue his dream, he stepped into the entertainment industry during Covid 19, where he started to help out production houses protect their crew from the coronavirus. This was the start of his career in the entertainment business, which led him to produce great projects like Asking For It, which includes an A-list cast.

Any particular genre does not define Savoy Brummer’s films. They are a combination of romantic comedies, dramas, and action. However, his production crew includes a black executive producer team that typically works together to get shows off the ground. He stated, “I like to incorporate and highlight black talent in my films. I also want to show immense gratitude to the black and white organizations supporting me in the entertainment industry. Especially to Netflix, Kevin Hart’s Hartbeat Studios, and Dave Chappelle’s Magic Lemonade.

Saving lives, supporting the community and producing incredible entertainment films, Savoy Brummer is truly an influential personality for many to follow.
