Katherine Kovin Kovina, an actress in Hollywood and stepmother to Al Pacino, is preparing to launch her multi-diversified jewelry line called K Kovin. She is also a licensed child advocate and serves as a board member for Shining Star Kids of America, a prominent organization in the childcare industry. Additionally, Katherine has been involved with The World Vin Cup 2015, a humanitarian project focused on helping children worldwide.
Being adopted at birth, Katherine holds a strong humanitarian belief that “Children are our future.” Her international jewelry lines not only empower and give a voice to those who are voiceless but also contribute to the betterment of marginalized children. A percentage of the sales from her jewelry line will be donated to children’s causes.
Born in Illinois in 1952 and raised in Missouri, Katherine has dedicated herself to supporting foster children, particularly those aging out of the system and those who have been adopted and may feel unwanted or vulnerable. She sees the hidden magic inside children, akin to a diamond in the rough. Ensuring the well-being of foster children is her top priority.
Alongside her acting career, Katherine has appeared in at least 15 films and is currently involved in two new projects as a co-star. She is working with movie producers Ray Michaels Quiroga, Eric Zuley, and Marneen Lynne Fields on the films “Death Realm” and “Who’s Gonna Take Care of Me?” respectively.
Katherine and her husband, William Lashbrook, previously co-hosted a podcast titled “Yachts, Islands, and Cuisine,” which was filmed in Antigua and Anguilla. They are now planning to revamp and reshoot the podcast, incorporating their business ventures and collaborating with horror writing partners, including horror genre producer Craig Muckler and superstar creature performer Spencer Wilding from Wales. Spencer Wilding is known for his roles in popular franchises like “Doctor Who,” “Harry Potter,” “Wrath of the Titans,” “Guardians of the Galaxy,” and his portrayal of Darth Vader in “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” as well as a “White Walker” in “Game of Thrones.”
In addition to her acting work, Katherine has collaborated with acclaimed actors such as Mickey Rooney, Tom Sizemore, Laurene Landon, Kelli Maroney, Olivia d’Abo, Sean Kinney, and Eileen Dietz. Her creative talent was also recognized by award-winning producer Rus Emanuel, who showcased her in a notable cameo role in the sci-fi pandemic film “Staycation” (2023).
Katherine’s entrepreneurial spirit continues to thrive, and she is preparing to release the K Kovin-Pacino jewelry line, featuring four distinct collections: St. Kathrin, The Royal Empire, The Italian Stallion, and The Gold Rush. With over 8,000 jewelers and a wide range of styles, the line aims to cater to diverse markets. The tentative launch date is set for summer 2023, including a collection called “Whipper Snappers,” designed for younger jewelry enthusiasts.
Frequently referred to as Kat, Katherine has successfully diversified her entrepreneurial ventures in various fields such as cosmetics, literature, food, and home products. She has pitched screenplays, produced entertainment events, and worked as a beauty and image consultant for renowned brands like Estee Lauder, Borghese, and various fragrance lines, including Safari and Calvin Klein. Her expertise in color and skin tone has been valuable in providing image consulting, beauty advisor makeovers, and freelance or in-house demonstrations for makeup, skincare, and wardrobe.
Furthermore, Katherine has made contributions to The Reel Cowboys, a nonprofit organization. As an associate producer, she worked alongside Tommy Cook, a tech producer, and Robert Lanthier, the president of The Reel Cowboys, for THE SILVER SPUR 15th and 16th Annual AWARDS SHOW held on October 27th, 2012, and 2013 at the Sportsmen’s Lodge in Studio City, California.
