Is Zorbing an Uttermost Sport

Traditional zorbing is one of the first choices of many riders and freshers as well due to its safe, compact, and full of fun experience. Traditional zorbing also falls into the category of the land or ground zorbing since the ball is on the ground and does not come in contact with water, generally. Moreover,  The Zorb ball are that are for land only  can roll on a sloppy downhill and comes with 1-2 harnesses and 1 – 2 entering points to get inside. The harness keeps the rider in place and hence you remain seated during the rolling.

Although the game seems to be pretty much enjoyable and full of fun, some people are afraid of it due to its extreme and energetic approach. A Zorb ball is a round, huge, transparent sphere which rolls rather uncontrollably unless you have a secured position with a harness. It can be extreme at times, plus when you do not follow the safety instructions, things instantly become out of control.

However whatever the theory is, the end result is yes, zorbing does fall into the category of an extreme sport because it involves a lot of rolling and  why not, after all that is what you anticipate from a ball, right?

Below we will discuss how it is wild, and if so, what makes it a friendlier sport!

What Makes Zorbing Wild?

If there is one thing that makes zorbing pretty much a risky sport, it’s nothing but the disobedience of the rules and safety standards. For instance there is a recommended time limit for zorbing and how much time one should be inside that huge plastic ball. If you exceed the limit, the smooth ventilation and oxygen supply would be at stake which makes zorbing somewhat a while sport.

On the other hand for those who are fans of wet zorbing, then the content of carbon dioxide would certainly be higher. If you are already struggling with some breathing health condition, zorbing is not for you.

Who shouldn’t do zorbing?

As a rule of thumb, if you are sick, playing physical games and outdoor sports become choosy for you. Certainly depending on the type and condition of health issue you should analyze if you can handle the abrupt and jerky movement of a Zorb ball. However, strolling on a water surface while being in a Zorb ball is still a fun way to enjoy it if you do not take things to the extreme level.  Usually, if you have the following health conditions, be conscious of Zorb!

  •       Heart or lung problem
  •       Breathing issues such as Astana
  •       Hypertension
  •       Joints pain etc.

Breathing in a Zorb ball

Breathing in a Zorb ball is not something you should be afraid of; the PVC made bubble ball has a regular diameter of 0.2 m and the overall volume is about 58%. If you are concerned about how to breathe while inside the huge orb, if its total weight is 80 kg  the ball comes with two layers i.e. the bigger ball the exterior one and the smaller ball that is inside the bigger ball- obviously.

The area between each ball is inflated which means it is filled with air and the inner ball’s inlet is open to outside, hence breathing should not be a problem. However the risk of suffocation is not gone properly. You can still suffocate or drown, at times if the buildup CO2 is there.

So What Are The Recommended Rules For Best Zorbing Experience?

By now you might be wondering about what are the parameters upon which you can rely to experience the best and memorable zorbing ball. Certainly, a Zorb ball itself is not dangerous; in fact it comes with a lot of laughter’s smiles and thrilling joy!

  •       The first rule for zorbing is that you should not try to catch other fellow riders especially when they are tilting/shifting the Zorb ball forward.
  •       Next thing which holds the most importance is the zip up clothes and garment. It can stick onto the plastic or somewhere causing the ball to tear and that would be dangerous. Make sure to keep your pockets empty and avoid wearing zipper garments.
  •       Never carry a sharp object inside the orb and remove gems, earrings, watches etc.
  •       For even more safety and sound zorbing sessions, you should make sure to wear attached harness or straps.
  •       Never bump into other players or someone who is trying to stand upright. ; It can seriously damage them. Likewise if someone is not wearing the body Zorb bubble do not collide with them.
  •       If there is fire near you, do not try to be around it. It can burn the PVC plastic and that is a risk you should not get involved in.
