How to find the right type of scooter for your child?

Kids these days are found obsessed with scooters. Thanks to the auto industry that has started to focus on kids also and have launched different scooters targeting children from various age groups. No matter if your child is a boy or a girl and from which age group he/she belongs, there is a scooter for him/her in the market. However, you need to be a little cautious if you want to ensure that you find the right product.  This guide is focused on some tips to help you find the best scooter:

Find an age appropriate scooter:

Your child’s age is a major factor to be taken into consideration when you are in the market. As with the scooter, a child learns to balance and develop a strong coordination between various body parts, you need to be sure of the fact that this is not too much for your child. If your child is too young for the scooter but wants to get one, you can start by buying him a three-wheeled scooter. There is less need to balance and very young children can easily ride them. They are too close to the ground due to which, the child is not at the risk to get major injuries. Similarly, consider a two-wheeled scooter for your teenage child. Check pro scooters at Skate Connection to buy a right product.

Consider the height of your child:

Every child has a different height and based on it, the scooter handle needs to be different. You cannot buy a scooter that your child can ride conveniently if you don’t consider this factor. The handle height generally varies from 3 to 5 inches per year for kids between the ages of 2 to 5. Some scooters also have adjustable handles but their height can be adjusted up to a certain limit.

Pay attention to the size:

Some people don’t bother about the size of the scooter much and when they go to buy the scooter, they just tell the age of their kid and buy a scooter. Due to this, they often end up buying something which is either too big for the kid or too small. They should know that the size of the standard wheel of the scooter is 110mm. The scooter with the bigger or smaller wheel can be chosen. The small wheel scooter is generally light in weight and closer to the ground which makes it more stable. If your child is tall and belongs to a higher age group, buy a scooter with bigger wheels.

Check the surface:

If you fear that your child might fall off the scooter and get injured, check the surface of the scooter. The surface should be anti-slip so that the rider does not slip from it. If you have accidentally bought a slippery surface scooter, then invest in shoes that can prevent him from getting slipped.
