How To Change Windows RDP password?

We all know very well that sometimes following best security practises is not enough and practical. But still, we require to follow security policies simply to maintain the essential standards.

You may found it unnecessary, but it’s 100% true when we talk about the passwords in corporate environments, where we can find circumrotation periods of 1, 3 or 6 months, after which they will be asked to renew the password.

While if you don’t know, then let me clarify that by default, the password renewal in Windows Server is practised every three months and requires the revolution of 24. In short, we will have to change the credential 24 times before we can repeat the first password that we have used. Yes, it’s quite difficult, but it’s one of the best practices.

If you are connected to a remote server through Windows remote desktop, and that server is Windows Server 2012, you may find yourself in the situation of not knowing how to change the user’s password since pressing ‘Ctrl + Alt + Sup’ will block your local operating system. Hence to be able to do it from the RDP, you must press another key combination, and here it is, ‘Ctrl + ALT + DELETE.’

Basically, when we connect via RDP to a server, we can simply use the classic key combination that we already mentioned in the earlier paragraph to access the password change screen. But hold, as this will not work with recursive RDP, as the window corresponding to the main remote desktop will always open.

So, now without wasting much time, let’s get started and simply explore the steps to change the Windows RDP password.
