How to Celebrate New Year’s Eve in a Pandemic-Free Zone?

New Years’ is just around the corner, and no one will indeed miss 2020 at all. This year has proved to be disastrous in all aspects. We saw the death of nature in the wildfires, hurricanes, tornados, flooding, and the death of the human race by millions due to the deadly Coronavirus pandemic. 

 

No one will miss it, but we will always remember it as the worst year for planet earth. With that, let’s happily bid it farewell and prepare ourselves for the next year, 2021. And we know all of you are desperately waiting for 2020 to end, and with it the bad-luck it brought upon us. No matter how satisfying the number 2020 was, it did little of sort for us. 

 

Sadly, our New Year celebrations will seem nothing like it used to before. The ball dropping in Times Square, Fireworks, and partying all night like there is no tomorrow. Not this year, but what will it look like anyway? How different will things be now? 

 

Places under strict lockdown have canceled their annual New Year celebrations, but what about those places where restrictions are relieved a bit, and people can go out but while following all the safety rules and precautions. 

 

To all those living in a pandemic-free zone, there are countless ways to celebrate the new year; all you have to do is be a little creative and wise while planning the night.

Safety first

No matter what you plan to do, your and others’ safety always comes first. Despite getting the authorities’ green ticket, Covid is not entirely cured; it can come back with even the tiniest mistakes. 

 

Always maintain your distance from strangers or people you know are careless in following the proper SOP guidelines. The same goes for people who are actively going to crowded public places like malls, restaurants, pubs, etc. 

 

Wear your masks and keep an alcohol-based sanitizer with you. If you find someone without a mask, leave that place immediately, or provide them with one. 

Celebrations

Now comes the part of the actual party. Getting drunk, dancing on the floor with crazy lights is not always the right idea for a party, especially now when you have to be in your senses and vigilant in public gatherings. 

 

Our celebratory events may be different than usual, but they are effective, safe, and fun-filled.

1.   Outdoor Theater and Fireworks

Who says you can’t have a party without alcohol or blasting music and funky disco lights? You just need your friends, a great plan, and yourself to organize a great gathering, and what’s better than an outdoor movie with a massive bonfire in the middle, a cozy seating area, crazy snacks, and of course, social distancing. 

Select the best family movie on Disney Plus as it caters to all types of kid-friendly content. Test everything beforehand to avoid any error, and save yourself from embarrassment. Disney Plus is not available everywhere, so make sure you get a VPN for Disney Plus if you live abroad. Then just lay back and enjoy the film under the stars, and end the year with a small set of fireworks at home.

2.   Make-shift Drive-in Cinema

If you want to take things one notch above, then this is the time. Gather all your town members and convert an empty school ground into a drive-in cinema. This idea will be a success in areas where the nights are slightly cooler. Turn up the car heater and enjoy the movie while practicing social distance. Finish off the film and with fireworks in the background, bidding farewell to the traumatic year.

3.   Candlelight Vigil

If we look at things from a different perspective here, this year was no less than a trauma, where millions of lives lost the battle to Covid. This includes the unsung heroes on the frontline who actively played their part in the fight against covid. Doctors, nurses, volunteers, security personals, and even grocery store workers are actively working to provide an indefinite cure for the deadly disease. 

 

All these heroes deserve to be remembered, and their sacrifices need to be honored. If you want to celebrate, then celebrate them with a candlelight vigil. An ode to the people who were and still are on the front line, and to all the people who are no more. And pray that the new year brings lots of positivity and good luck in all our lives.

It’s all about perspective and privileges. There are alot of places still struggling to maintain the daily number of cases, while others have removed all the restrictions in their countries. All we have to do instead of wildly celebrating is to show some empathy towards those who are deprived and a tribute to all the essential workers risking their lives to end this for once and for all.
