How Delta-8 Can Supercharge Your Fitness Progress

We’ve all been there. It’s the end of a long week. You’re meeting up with friends and everyone’s having a great time. It starts with a round or two of drinks. One thing leads to another and you’re jumping in an Uber and grabbing for the complimentary water. The mantra, ‘work hard, play hard’ resonates with the fitness community. But early mornings are especially challenging if you are fighting a hangover.

What if there was a better way to unwind?

Not just ditching the hangover. The non-alcoholic movement covers that.

A few months ago, I began hearing about Delta-8 THC. At first I dismissed the topic. I’m not in a recreational state – so it’s not like I could purchase it legally anyway, right? Plus, I already hate cardio. Smoking or vaping seems like it would make treadmill days even more miserable.

But as Delta-8 continued to be brought up in conversation, I kept hearing about the anecdotal stories about the clearer-headed buzz, the great body feel, and that it was a more functional alternative to marijuana. So it’s not marijuana?

With basic research, I read that Delta-8 is almost always hemp-derived. That meant I could buy it in my state (folks: this isn’t legal advice, do yourself a favor and check your state laws before buying) without the cops showing up at my door.

So I ordered gummies. My experience was positive. I only tied a half gummy and had a fairly gentle euphoric, uplifiting sensation. The downside was that it was a big time commitment. It was about 75-90 minutes before the gummy took effect. I also noticed that the gummies seemed to vary in strength. When reserching if inconsistent gummy dosing was a thing (spoiler alert, it is) I ran across my current go-to Delta-8 product: drinks.

Instead of reaching for a beer, I can grab a THC seltzer. My favorite is a key lime flavor from Floral Beverages. Seltzers seem to react super fast. I typically feel the effect in about 15 minutes. I also sleep like a baby after drinking them. But the best part is that it’s zero calorie. If I have a Floral, I don’t feel like reaching for my typical craft beer. One of the infographics on Floral’s Instagram highlighted the power of substituting this habit. It looked at the long-term caloric impact of drinking one light beer, one heavier-cal IPA, and one Floral seltzer each work night over the period of a year and five years.

That’s what hit home for me. Floral’s THC seltzer helps me with another saying: ‘work smarter, not harder’. Floral’s seltzers let me have my buzz without contributing to my macros. It is worth mentioning – if you’re subject to substance screening for THC, this isn’t the drink for you.

As the weather warms up, go grab yourself a THC seltzer. They’re tasty, a neat new experience, and won’t be the reason you missed the gym this morning.
