Herbal tea. Herbal teas: types, benefits.

Herbal tea is a tea that is prepared exclusively from plants. Herbal tea can include herbs, flowers, leaves, fruits, seeds and plant bark. Based on this, it is clear that herbal tea is an exclusively natural product.

Herbal tea is a collection of medicinal plants. It can be both preventive and curative. This suggests that it can be used to prevent any disease, and often for treatment. There is a wide variety of fees.

Unlike black or green tea and, moreover, from coffee, herbal teas will not have a detrimental effect on the central nervous system, will not cause addiction and will not interfere with the absorption of vitamins. On the contrary, you can prepare a vitamin herbal tea that will help to make up for the lack of vitamins.

We know that plants are very beneficial and each has a whole list of beneficial properties. In each collection, the appropriate plant components are selected. The composition of the collection depends on its purpose. We regularly recommend people various types of herbal tea. Like- recently we met a couple facing a bad phase of their love life. So, we gave them the best tea for love life. And, obviously it is a herbal solution.

Herbal teas for energy

These herbal teas are especially beneficial as they can replace your morning coffee or the black / green tea you used to drink to help you feel energized. These teas can be simply irreplaceable if you are tired or do not get enough sleep and you urgently need to get yourself “in shape”. To urgently cheer up, use teas, infusions and decoctions from these plants:

  • ginger (ginger root is best used fresh, not dried)
  • blooming Sally

It should be borne in mind that the invigorating effect of herbal teas is short-lived and cannot replace good rest. Do not consume these teas shortly before bed.

Soothing herbal teas to combat chronic fatigue and restore the nervous system

Teas made from these plants have a calming effect. Soothing teas, unlike the invigorating teas on the list above, are great for relieving stress after a hard day at work and can help you relax before bed:

  • mint
  • melissa (also called lemon grass)
  • narrow-leaved fireweed
  • motherwort
  • thyme
  • chamomile
  • valerian

To get a noticeable effect in the presence of chronic fatigue, it makes sense to drink these herbal teas in the evenings regularly, for two to three weeks (with the exception of valerian – it cannot be taken for a long time).

Cleansing herbal teas

Herbal teas can be used as a detoxification aid. Thus, contributing to weight loss, rejuvenation and overall health. As part of the cleansing collection, plants are used with the following properties:

  • Herbs that dissolve mucus – plantain, elderberry, fennel (fruit).
  • Choleretic herbs – dandelion (dandelion root), corn silk, immortelle, wormwood, peppermint, chamomile, calendula.
  • Laxative herbs – rhubarb (rhubarb root), senna, zhoster, buckthorn.

The point is to help the entire body cleanse, not just empty the bowels. Therefore, it is the collection that is used, and not only the laxative herbs. Soothing herbs (listed above) are often included in the collection for cleansing teas. This is done in order to “switch” the body to a mode of purification and renewal, which is impossible in a state of stress (this is how the nervous system works).

There are also herbal teas with a more specific cleansing action:

  • To cleanse blood vessels – black currant, Japanese sophora, white mistletoe.
  • To cleanse the lungs – oregano, violet.
  • To remove toxins – burdock, nettle, dandelion.
  • Flax is used to remove chemicals and radionuclides. To get a noticeable effect, you need to drink flax tea for several weeks.

Of course, each of the plants listed above has not one but several beneficial properties. Therefore, it makes sense to use well-known, well-established fees.

Cleansing Herbal Tea:

  • strawberry leaves
  • strawberry root
  • Birch buds
  • chamomile
  • John’s wort

This collection cleanses the blood and lymph, removes salts and toxins, lowers the level of “bad” cholesterol in the blood, improves the activity of the gastrointestinal tract and promotes weight loss.

All cleansing fees (especially those that include choleretic herbs) help cleanse the skin from acne and inflammation, and improve skin color. Reduces allergic reactions due to the fact that allergens are removed from the body.

Burdock teas are especially useful for the skin. It helps with any skin problems – eczema, psoriasis, acne, dermatitis and various inflammatory processes. For effective treatment, burdock tea should be drunk within a month.

Herbal teas to treat inflammation

Since many different diseases are accompanied by inflammatory processes, herbal teas that have anti-inflammatory effects are often simply irreplaceable. After all, herbal teas do not have such side effects as antibiotics and chemical medicines. On the contrary, in addition to anti-inflammatory properties, these teas have many other beneficial properties. Anti-inflammatory teas include teas based on the following plants:

  • burdock
  • dandelion (dandelion root)

Herbal teas to strengthen the immune system

Almost all herbal teas have a positive effect on the immune system, as they contain a lot of vitamins. But there are herbal teas and infusions that are especially useful for strengthening the immune system. They are prepared from these plants:

  • nettle
  • Linden
  • lingonberry
  • rose hip
  • oregano
  • John’s wort
  • Rowan
  • black currant (leaves)
  • swamp sushi
  • mint, strawberry (strawberry leaves)
  • Sudanese rose (karkade tea)
  • thyme
  • primrose
  • lavender
  • clover
  • lemongrass
  • echinacea

Vitamin tea: dried lingonberry and thyme leaves in a 1: 5 ratio.

Herbal teas are good for children too. Fennel or linden tea will help strengthen the immunity of babies. This tea can be given to a child from 3 months. And fennel tea will also help eliminate colic.

It is useful to drink herbal teas to strengthen the immune system both as a prophylaxis of diseases and during an already onset disease – they will help to recover faster.

Echinacea is considered not only an immunomodulator, but also a natural one. It inhibits the growth of certain types of fungi and bacteria. But, like any potent remedy, echinacea has contraindications: you cannot drink echinacea tea for more than 10 days in a row, it is contraindicated for children under 2 years old and pregnant women, as well as those with tuberculosis, leukemia and multiple sclerosis. Echinacea can also be allergic.

When preparing vitamin tea in the morning, you can add plants that have an invigorating effect to it. And in the evening – plants with a relaxing, calming effect.

However, to strengthen the immune system, you should not rely only on herbal teas. A contrast shower will help to effectively increase immunity, especially if taken correctly.

Antipyretic herbal teas

Herbal teas from the following plants are excellent antipyretic, without harmful side effects, unlike tablets:

  • raspberries (berries of forest or garden raspberries)
  • cranberries (berries)
  • black elderberry (flowers)
  • willow bark
  • poplar buds

Vitamin antipyretic herbal collection: raspberries, cranberries, rose hips.

How to combine plants to make a delicious herbal tea

Herbal teas are not only healthy but also delicious. How do you find the right combination of plants for the perfect flavor?

Of course, you can make tea from one plant, but often you want to make something more interesting. In this case, the main thing is not to add several herbs to the tea at once, which have a strong aroma. Otherwise, they will “hammer” each other, or they may even form a tasteless aroma.

Aromatic herbs include, for example:

  • mint, lemon balm, oregano, thyme, lavender, fennel, coriander, jasmine.

The bottom line is that usually one flavor should dominate in the mixture, and the rest should “play along” with it. and not interfere.

Still, you can mix plants with a strong odor. But they must be of a different type.

For example:

  • some spicy herb + leaves of some berry bush + spices (cinnamon, star anise, ginger root, cloves, anise, vanilla, allspice).

Pairing options for a delicious herbal tea:

  • raspberries (leaves) + cinnamon + orange (zest)
  • sage + lemon balm + allspice + cloves
  • mint + cardamom
  • thyme + oregano + lemon (zest)
  • cherry (leaves) + strawberry (leaves) + vanilla
  • rosehip + black currant

However, everyone has a different taste, so experiment and have fun!

The main thing is to take into account the properties of the selected plants, so that, for example, not “organize” insomnia for yourself by preparing an invigorating drink for the night, and vice versa. And, of course, it should be remembered that some herbs are medicinal and not all of them can be consumed every day.
