Gun Accessories

As you become more familiar with your weapon, you may consider investing in several pistol accessories, such as holsters, gun upgrades, shooting aids, safety equipment and tools.

Table of Contents

Holster

The first pistol accessory you may consider is a holster. Choose a holster that fits well and allows you to draw your weapon easily. However, consider using and practicing your draw techniques with several different types of holsters because different weapons and situations, such as traveling, may require different holsters.

Gun

Your gun may be upgraded to improve performance. For example, you may fit your firearm with sights, a laser or a tactical light. Aftermarket triggers may improve the angle and pressure required to fire your weapon. Threaded barrels allow suppressor use.

Weapons may also be personalized with color changes or aftermarket slides, improving their look. Shooter grip may also be improved through magazine slides, which also increase capacity, and stippling treatments. Additional magazines may also be purchased.

Shooting

Rests for rifles and pistols may be purchased to improve steadiness. In addition, targets, including animal or competition targets, can be used to evaluate your shooting skills.

Safety

Gun safety should be the primary concern of any gun owner. Therefore, consider purchasing a gun safe for your home, office, vehicle or anywhere you store your weapon. Your safe can also  be outfitted with hangers to save space.

Ear and eye protection should be worn when you are practicing or during gun competitions.

Tools

Gun owners should have tools specific to their weapon. You may also consider keeping a multitool, such as a Leatherman.

As you purchase your gun, consider investing in one or more holsters. After you have gained experience with your weapon, you may want to consider aftermarket upgrades and training aids. Be sure to invest in quality safety equipment, and consider investing in any tools you may need to maintain, clean and repair your weapon.
