1. Use the Wall Above Your Desk
Why force all of your office supplies and necessities to fit on your desk or in the drawers below it? Sometimes, there’s too much stuff, and you need most of these things in eyesight for you to see every day. Rather than cramming it all on your desk, use the wall above it instead.
Hang a shelf, a bulletin board, a wood and wire rack, or a wood slab with hooks to hang mason jars on. You can then place all of your every-day items in or on these storage holders, such as your calendar, pens and markers, and greenery to boost your mood.
2. Label All Drawers and Bins
Be sure to label everything in your office. This makes it easier to find supplies when needed. It’ll also prevent people from having to stop you and ask where something is.
All drawers and bins should have labels on them and the items inside should be labeled as well if in separate folders or compartments. Using color coordination is another great idea to keep things in place.
3. Bring a Closet Organizer Into the Office
Closet organizers aren’t only a great way to keep a closet clean. They work well in the office also! Bring in one that either hangs or one that’s on wheels.
You can then use it to hang bags on or holder paper. Hang a clear shoe organizer on it and fill the slots with different small office supplies such as rulers, staplers, paperclips, and more!
4. Place All Unnecessary Office Items in Storage
Over the years, you might accumulate office furniture and other large office supply items. There’s no need to keep the old copy machine when you have two brand new ones. If you want to hold onto your old furniture and supplies but want to free up space in the office, then place all unnecessary office items in storage.
You can find storage container sales near you to store your items in until needed again.
