Fluid Medi Spa & Wellness has a team of five Registered Massage Therapists. In addition to our Registered Massage Therapists, our wellness team consists of a Chiropractor and an Acupuncturist, among others. Our Registered Massage Therapists (RMT’s) have a dynamic skill set to treat a variety of ailments as well as to maintain general health and body wellness. Registered Massage Therapists in British Columbia are licensed health care professionals committed to restoring and maintaining optimal health and pain-free function of the body. In contrast, we also offer relaxation massages which are performed by estheticians and are not for the treatment of any specific symptoms, rather for general relaxation.
Registered Massage Therapy is an ideal treatment for a reducing pain, improving joint mobility, improving circulation, treatment of chronic diseases, injuries and the effects of long-term stress, reducing muscle tension, lymphatic drainage and increasing general body awareness. RMT’s are educated and trained to accurately assess and treat with techniques that include massage and manual therapy, joint mobilization, hydrotherapy, and rehabilitative exercise such as stretching, strengthening, postural exercise and patient education. Some of the massage techniques used include Swedish Massage, Deep Tissue, Myofascial Release and Trigger Point Release. In British Columbia, our RMT’s are among the most educated and highly trained in the industry with completion of at least 3,000 hours of training at an accredited college. These studies comprehensively cover health sciences of anatomy, physiology, pathology, kinesiology and neuro-anatomy.
Most health insurance plans cover RMT treatments. Here at Fluid, we now offer Direct Billing to all insurance providers for your convenience. Simply book your appointments online, in person, over the phone or via email and provide us with your insurance information for a seamless payment option. In the absence of insurance coverage, our hourly rates are well within industry
averages even with our vast experience and modern Medi Spa concept. Our state-of-the-art clinic is clean, modern and cozy. Our treatment rooms are outfitted with ergonomic beds with optional heating, weighted blankets and comfort. What does an RMT treatment look like? Upon entering the Spa, you will be walked to your treatment room and assessed by your therapist. Prior to treatment, you will have completed an online assessment document and health questionnaire. Your RMT will build a treatment plan custom to your individual needs. This plan is discussed and your questions are addressed prior to treatment. Initial treatments will have a 10 minute assessment built in. Next, you will be able to relax and be comfortable for your treatment to begin. RMT sessions are not only therapeutic for the body but also relaxing, calming and great for mental clarity. Our treatment times are 30 minutes, 45 minutes, 60 minutes and 75 minutes. Treatment time is selected based on recommendations of your therapist. Initial treatment recommendation is for 60 minutes. Book in for your first session and find out why we are the premier destination for wellness and beauty.
