Few common facts about body armor

Body armors are regarded as lifesavers. The level of protection it offers to law enforcement agents, security guards, celebrities, soldiers is beyond words. If the body armor doesn’t fit properly, there may be a chance of it not working correctly. So while going for body armors, one should take care of the fitness of the same or else it will be of no use for you. It is evident that in the last few decades, body armors saved the lives of so many police officers and soldiers. It has become mandatory for all law enforcement agents to wear body armor while on duty, but still, many of them are unaware of important facts about the same.

Though body armors protect you from a lot of problematic situations, still there are numerous situations where body armors don’t work. You might be shocked to know that body armor is just a number of layers of fabric that doesn’t assure you safety against bullets. Yes, it is just a form of garment, and no garment is bulletproof. Bullets are something dangerous, and any garment rarely claims to be a bulletproof one that can bear bullets. It is advisable to stay alert even while wearing body armor because it doesn’t offer a hundred percent protection.

Moving out wearing body armor doesn’t mean you’ll be safe even if you are not aware of what’s going in the outside world, but this is a myth. But, with inventions, now, there are fabrics that can bear bullets to some extent, but you should have knowledge of the same before you get the right one for yourself. Numerous ballistic panels in soft body armor comprise super special and more than ordinary fibers that are quite strong. Such fibers are joined together to form the fabric, and these are quite effective to stop bullets. It distributes the force of the object coming at a fast speed towards the person.

There are different types of body armors offering different levels of protection. The various certifications of levels put forward by the agencies are obviously not easily understandable by everyone. Still, there are some set of general conditions that can be used while choosing the right level of armor for you. The agencies usually recommend going for level 2 and level 3A body armor vests as they are best suited to bear the force of the bullet left from the handgun.

In order to stop bullets out of heavy rifles, it is advised to go for hard armor. The agencies recommend getting the body armor of level 3 and level 4 to safeguard against the rifle bullets because these include rigid armor plates. The body armor vest doesn’t get weak with the time period but with normal wear and tear. If you wear it every day, it will weaken its capability and strength to protect you. Agencies usually limit the time period after which the body armor gets weak as they cannot estimate how many times it can be worn.
