Fastbraces: Do They Live Up to the Hype?

Thinking about working on your smile? You’re not alone. Over four million people in the US wear braces and with the variety of options now available, it’s no surprise.

Traditional braces are still a solid option, but techniques and technology have advanced significantly in the world of orthodontics. If you’ve been putting off getting braces due to the time needed to complete treatment, then a method known as Fastbraces could be an ideal solution. Read on to find out what Fastbraces are, how much quicker they actually work, and if it’s a good option for you.

What are Fastbraces?

Fastbraces are a new method of teeth alignment designed to achieve the same results as traditional braces in far less time. The orthodontic treatment is comprised of two elements. First off are the orthodontic appliances that are affixed to your teeth, which are similar in function and appearance to traditional ceramic or metal braces.

The appliances consist of a set of brackets fastened to the outside of each tooth with a dental adhesive. These are then connected by a wire running through each individual bracket on your bottom and top teeth.

The second element is a series of treatment sessions involving an advanced subsonic wave and phototherapy methods that accelerate the movement of your teeth towards the final position.

Do Fastbraces Work?

The answer to “are Fastbraces effective?” is usually a personal one. The method may not be effective for everyone but your dentist or orthodontist will advise you on your options before starting any work on your teeth.

The good news is, Fastbraces are not just marketing hype. They have been proven to work and cut the treatment period to align your teeth significantly.

How Quickly do Fastbraces Work?

The treatment time when using these braces along with the accelerated orthodontic treatment has been found to be completed in half the time when compared to traditional braces. While each case is different, to give you a better idea, Fastbraces treatment usually takes anywhere from three months to a year to completely straighten teeth. Comparatively, traditional ceramic or metal braces usually take two to three years to complete treatment.

Are Fastbraces Worth It?

Besides reducing the length of treatment time, Fastbraces has many additional benefits. Some of these include:

  • Reduced visits to the orthodontist (compared to traditional braces)
  • A possible lower price point due to shorter treatment time
  • Reduced risk of developing oral health problems during treatment
  • Reduced need for any extractions
  • Shorter post-care period wearing a retainer
