What types of food should you eat to get the gains you want in your body building quest?
The best diet for building muscle is one that is composed of a combination of high protein, carbohydrates, and low in saturated fat. Having good nutrition is key to living a healthy lifestyle, but the body builder’s diet needs to compliment your workouts so you can develop muscles faster.

You can get high amounts of protein by eating lots of chicken, fish, and meat. Chicken and fish are ideal for you because of their low fat content. Although some fats are important in proper fitness nutrition, you still should be weary of saturated fats because they can contribute to a larger waistline.
Carbs are really important because they provide the primary source of energy for our body when we workout. You will need ample amounts of energy to finish your workouts on a daily basis. Many people don’t eat enough carbs and often “bonk” or fatigue to fast. Focus on complex carbohydrates like whole wheat, grains, and veggies which we will get into later.
Fats are the great insulators of our internal organs and is used as a secondary source of energy. You must be careful with the types of fat that you take in.
Saturated fats are the worst fats because they contain high amounts of triglycerides which raise your cholesterol level.
These are fats like animal lard, fried foods, and butter. Unsaturated fats are better for you, but they also should be consumed in moderation. Use foods that contain olive oil and flaxseed as well as anything that says “polyunsaturated” and “monounsaturated” on the label.
There is one other form of fat that must be mentioned and that is omega 3 fatty acids. This is a special type of fat that has so many health benefits attached to it that it almost makes this form of fat legendary. Some of the things that omega 3′s or “fish oil” are known to help assist you with is to combat depression, fend off fatigue, and give you energy you need to workout. It has also been known to assist with fat loss too so be sure to include it in your body building workout routine.
Many people say that fruit should be consumed in moderation because they contain sugar, but I have never met anyone who has gotten fat off of eating fruit! Eat as much as you want! The same can be said about veggies, but focus more on green vegetables because they contain more vitamins and fiber.
The best diet for building muscle a combination of all of the ingredients mentioned above. A lot of what you need to eat daily depends on your body weight, fat percentage, and workout load. If you have a craving for bad foods such as chocolate, pastries, and alcohol, just remember that your training your body and those things need to be kept to a bare minimum.
