As we ensured earlier, the dedicated server increases the website’s online presence. Its owner gets complete resource control, and there are no possible dangerous neighbours. But there is another interesting question – do I need the graphic processor unit? Let’s discover this problem.

When will the dedicated server help?
Our data centers in Kyiv and Amsterdam are home to bare metal servers for multiple purposes. Their heart is powerful multi-core central processors with a frequency of 2.3 GHz as minimum. 8 to 24 cores combined with capable RAM satisfy most customers’ demands.
VSYS Host has two dedicated server options. Their basic hardware specifications are similar except for the port speed. Most ordinary customers choose a 1gbps dedicated server for such projects as:
- Remote working places around the world;
- Home and corporate storage or file-sharing systems;
- Mail systems for companies and enthusiasts;
- Reference resources, etc.
1 Gbps is the standard port for the company’s websites. It’s enough to cover 324 TB of monthly traffic. We don’t limit the use of this bandwidth, but when you reach the 200 Mbps (65 TB) point earlier than the end of the month, consider paying for 1 Gbps unlimited coverage to compensate us for the excessive network usage.
The 10 Gbps is the premium service with the more capable infrastructure. Thus, it covers more demands. It’s a great offshore offer because these servers in Amsterdam have joints with the high ping networks AMS-IX and NL-IX. These conditions are sufficient for:
- Streaming services;
- Popular internet-stores;
- Dating resources, and so on.
Indeed, the 10 Gbps provides more capacity than the traditional channel. It’s open to the demanding resources collecting the high traffic. All equipment is scalable. That gives the customer the ability to upgrade the facility equipment. However, each server has a ceiling of its possibilities. If the customer reaches this point, the support team will share the website load between two or more servers.
GPU – help or not
The dedicated gpu server is another popular service. But some customers make the same error – order the graphic processors when these devices will be messy. We remind you that graphic processors deal with complex calculations to avoid misunderstandings. They’re helpful in:
- Cloud mining;
- Deep machine learning;
- Big data;
- 3D rendering;
- The gaming industry, including real-time strategies;
- Video monitoring.
3584 CUDA cores in combination with the modern GDDR5X memory standards of NVidia GTX1080TI graphic processor is our solution. No other card can compete with it in speed and scalability. That’s why VSYS Host enjoys including them in the GPU server configuration.
The mining or real-time strategies need too many resources to kill the central processor. The main processor will serve only essential tasks and interact with the operating system core in the auxiliary graphic processor unit. Energy consumption becomes more efficient. However, if your server functions well without GPU, don’t hurry to install it.
