D Dutchmen Dairy – Quality Dairy Products and Artisan Cheese

Anyone who travels through the town of Sicamous, B.C., knows you can’t drive through without a stop at D. Dutchmen Dairy! With over 62 flavours of ice cream, and a variety of milk and cheese products, this farm fresh dairy store located just off the Trans-Canada Highway has become a must-visit destination for tourists and locals alike. With delicious ice cream, and yummy cheese, it’s pretty easy to understand why!

For over 40 years, D. Dutchmen Dairy has been bringing old fashioned, hand-made dairy products to the people and visitors of the Sicamous area. Their delicious ice cream, milk and cheese is made with only top-quality ingredients using milk from their own cows. Established in 1978 by the Dewitt family, D. Dutchmen Dairy continues to be family owned and operated, now run by Nellie and Chris Dewitt.

Dutchmen Dairy has become an established brand throughout Canada, mainly as a result of word-of-mouth referrals from satisfied customers and ice cream lovers. All of their dairy products are made right on site, bringing farm fresh dairy right to your table. Their milk products include homo, 2%, 1%, skim, chocolate and even egg nog for the Christmas season! They also carry buttermilk, table cream, whipping cream and sour cream.  Their new A2 milk and cheese products are made with A2 casein protein, which is easier on the digestive system – a welcome alternative for those sensitive to dairy. And the best part? Their milk comes in old-fashioned milk bottles, a perfect souvenir for each and every visitor!

Dutchmen is also known for their wide selection of artisan cheese, including Monterey Jack and Cheddar cheeses in a variety of flavours. All ingredients are added by hand, making this local cheese truly artisan. From bacon to horseradish, and everything in between, D. Dutchmen’s cheeses are both delicious and unique! They have over 40 flavours of Cheddar and Monterey Jack cheese so there’s truly something for everyone. D. Dutchmen also carries delicious cheese curds in both white and orange, a perfect addition to your next plate of poutine!

A trip to D. Dutchmen Dairy isn’t complete without a scoop or two of their famous ice cream. D. Dutchmen’s ice cream shop carries over 62 different flavours of ice cream and is a beloved treat for both kids and adults. All of their flavours are available to take home, with 40 different flavours available to have in their shop in a cone or cup.

After enjoying a delicious ice cream cone, make sure you also stop in and visit the number of animals who live on the farm, including llamas, donkeys, goats, and exotic birds. Their calf barn, milking parlour and cheese making plant are also a must-see during a visit to D. Dutchmen Dairy!

For over 40 years, visitors to D. Dutchmen Dairy have had the opportunity to experience delicious farm fresh, handmade dairy products. Their old-fashioned ice cream, mini-petting zoo, farm animals and milking parlour make a visit to the farm both interesting and entertaining.
