What inspired you to start Cabo Platinum, and what gap did you see in the luxury travel market that motivated you to create it?
Cabo was growing rapidly 15 years ago when our Founder, Danette Reid, was working with a real estate developer to design his personal home. She quickly realized that Mexico’s luxury sector was developing fast, and Cabo was poised to become its epicenter. Her intuition led her to create a program that delivered a true white-glove experience for travelers seeking only the best this destination had to offer.

How did your background and early experiences shape the way you built the company and its service philosophy?
Both of our Founders have extensive backgrounds in hospitality, from catering and event management to luxury exotic automotive and even the Governors Ball for the Academy Awards. Each brought a unique set of skills, and together they crafted a product that redefined the luxury travel experience in Baja. It was a fresh, elevated approach that set a new standard for personalized service in Los Cabos.

What were some of the biggest challenges you faced in establishing Cabo Platinum, and how did you overcome them?
Finding the right staff has always been one of the greatest challenges and ultimately, one of our biggest rewards. Baja attracts incredible talent, but not everyone fits the high standards we require. Over time, we’ve identified and invested in those who truly excel in this environment, providing additional hospitality training and resources to help them grow. The results speak for themselves in the countless 5-star reviews our team receives. They’ve become true masters of their craft.

You’ve curated some of the most exclusive villas and experiences in Los Cabos. What standards or principles guide your selection process?
We always start with excellence regardless of price or availability. We imagine what the ultimate Cabo experience could be, then design what we call a Platinum Package for our elite guests. From there, we adapt those elements to create more accessible offerings that still deliver extraordinary value. It’s a delicate balance; luxury doesn’t always mean affordable, but we’ve found ways to make both coexist without compromising quality.

Cabo Platinum is known for more than just luxury rentals; it’s about delivering a seamless, fully personalized experience. How do you cultivate that level of service across your team and partners?
That’s exactly right. Delivering a bespoke experience is an ongoing passion project for us. Much of the magic comes from our concierge and villa staff, who consistently go above and beyond, even surprising guests who have stayed with us seven or ten times before. Our entire team embraces a continuous-improvement mindset: even a 1% enhancement each time makes a difference. That dedication keeps our standards evolving.

As Cabo continues to grow as a global luxury destination, how do you see Cabo Platinum evolving in the next few years?
We’re constantly pushing boundaries to discover new experiences for our guests. Our focus is on curating the best of Baja while remaining mindful of sustainability and the region’s natural beauty. We’re also exploring new technology partnerships and collaborations that enhance the guest experience and create deeper connections. With several new villas and yachts coming online over the next 18 months, it’s an exciting time. We can’t wait to introduce the next wave of Cabo’s finest offerings to our loyal guests.
