The Covid-19 pandemic has been a testing one for the entire world but those who have bore the brunt of what is going on with this pandemic is of course our healthcare workers. These men and women didn’t sign up to risk their lives every single day, struggling with the volume of patients and a very poor level of protective equipment but that is exactly what they have done and continue to do, a truly remarkable effort.
There have been many businesses during this time which have been supporting the healthcare workers, offering free food and in some cases free or heavily discounted housing such as those offering Covid corporate housing, freeing up space for those who need it most.
Can’t go Home
Something which many have failed to recognize is the fact that a great number of these men and women cannot go home after their shift because they have been exposed to the virus. If they have elderly people at home or even if they live nearby, the smart thing to do is to stay somewhere away from the family. Another problem which we see is that people from other states and cities who have traveled across the country to help out where it is needed most, they have also been in need of somewhere to stay, thankfully we have seen many hotels and many corporate housing companies freeing up space for them.
Corporate Measures
In many of the corporate housing properties they have put measures in place such as the daily deep cleaning of their properties using companies which specialize in deep steam cleaning and anti-viral washing of property and items inside it. These companies have also looked to take measures to make sure that the staff working inside those properties have been fully trained on the virus and what can be done to ensure that there is no risk of infection within the property. This includes the need for regular hand washing, the implementation of social distancing and finding ways in which they can ensure that this happens both inside the properties and in the public spaces. We have seen a huge effort from these companies to not only house those who need it most but also to make sure that they are in a safe space which is clean and virus free.
There will be many businesses who come out of this virus with the respect that they deserve because of the support which they have shown to health care workers and the selfless nature of the way in which they have helped them. Some businesses could have closed their doors in order to ionize their losses during this difficult time but there are so many like corporate housing groups who have decided that looking after our healthcare workers is more important than profits, and they too deserve all of the respect that is coming to them.
What do you make of the efforts which companies like this are making in support of our front line workers?
