Can you Fully Recover from Heart Failure?

Medical science has covered a long journey of evolution and with every mile covered, we have become more effective, efficient, and fruitful with our approach. There used to be a time when the diagnosis of congestive heart failure meant a physician would merely try to suppress the symptoms. No more.

Now, with the help of early diagnosis of any heart failure and impeccably designed swift treatment, we can not only deal with the symptoms but also slow down the disease and even work on reversing it.

With 5 million people currently suffering from congestive heart failure, there is no surprise why so many people want to explore this ailment in a detailed manner. Well, let’s go through every aspect of congestive heart failure in a detailed manner and find where you can recover from it or not.

The real culprit behind chronic heart failure

Even with an ominous-sounding name, chronic heart failure doesn’t mean sudden death or the heart stops working out of the blue. In most cases, chronic heart failure proves to be a gradual disease. When the heart muscles weaken, it takes the heart more power and pressure to fulfill the regular demand of the body.

The heart muscles weaken because of blood pressure, abnormal heart valves, and rare injuries to the heart like a heart attack.

It’s treatable

If you are dealing with any symptoms related to congestive heart failure, the physician will use an echocardiogram to assess the heart function. But you don’t need to worry as an echocardiogram is a completely non-invasive ultrasound method that reveals the different aspects of the heart, like its size and the current condition of heart valves.

Based on the results, the physician might use other tests like coronary angiogram or heart catheterization as these tests help the physician to analyze the blood vessels supplying the heart.

Upon diagnosis and final confirmation, the doctor can easily access the root cause of the problem and begin the treatment. But to reverse congestive heart disease, you must go through early diagnosis and get proper treatment. There used to be a time when everyone thought heart failure couldn’t be treated, but now everyone knows it’s not true.

Treatment and medication

The good news is that more than five classes of medication proved to be effective against heart failure as they have reduced various CHF symptoms. These medications have even improved the pumping capacity of the heart, which results in an increased survival rate.

In addition to this, there are various treatments for both blocked arteries, and heart valve issues as both of these conditions can weaken the heart muscles. But with proper treatment, normal blood flow to the heart can be easily restored. Even implantable defibrillators can deal with the dangerous heart rhythms that can easily accompany weak heart muscles and CHS.

Diet, exercise, and teamwork

The best results in CHF can only be obtained when both the doctor and the patient work together. Just devouring medicines and expecting everything to get better never works in the case of CHF.

The patient must follow a strict diet that should not include dietary salt as it is directly related to fluid retention, which can wreak havoc on the muscles of your heart. In addition to this, the patient should also incorporate exercise in his daily routine, as regular exercise keeps the heart-healthy.

CHF might be a dangerous disease, but that doesn’t mean it can’t be reversed. If you are dealing with CHF, then you should get proper treatment, medication and follow a strict lifestyle to recover as soon as possible. Click here to talk to health experts today!
