CameraMath’s real-life experience

Recently, ChatGPT has sparked a lot of discussion about AI. Besides the fact that we can chat with AI “naturally”, the scope of discussion includes but is not limited to: AI drawing, machine writing, and even writing code and solving math problems. This series of discussions also brought math solvers out of the limelight and compared them with ChatGPT. So this time we’ll experience these math solvers to explore whether they will be replaced by AI software.

Among all the solvers, CameraMath is the one that attracts me; its bright yellow icon stands out among all the apps and its ranking and rating are moderately high, which is more representative of the overall level of math solvers, so we choose CameraMath as our math solver.

Downloads

These math solvers are very easy and convenient to download from the app store and the Android App Store, and CameraMath also has an official website, so you can download it directly from there.

Features

When you enter CameraMath, you can see that its interface has a clear classification of modules, mainly consisting of four sections, Scan, Ask, Calc and More. Let’s experience them one by one.

-Scan

The function of this interface can be clearly seen to be related to photography, after the first login will pop up the use of guidance, let us understand how to use this function, that is, the need to solve the topic to take pictures, and then the application will give the corresponding answer. This step also uses AI for calculations, but compared to CHatGPT, it does not require manual input, just take a photo to get a quick answer and get a very detailed step by step solution. The process is very fast, and it is easy to scan the handwriting as you only need to take a picture and do not need to enter the question manually.

-Ask

The first impression I got from Ask in the navigation was that it was similar to the Help Center, and I thought it was a place to solve questions that users had during the use of the app. However, after clicking into the page, I realized that this page can be used to ask the teacher math questions, not the staff concerned. That is, we can ask the online tutor to get the math answer, and the feature provides two options, you can just get the answer without steps, this option will make the time to get the answer shorter, while the other option is to get the answer and steps, as you can imagine, this option takes more time to wait. And this feature makes up for the shortcomings of the AI, there is no AI that can solve so type of math problems, including CHATgpt and math solvers such as CameraMath, but a good math tutor can.

-Calc

The calculator interface features a calculator called Step by step, as well as calculators for several common shapes, including triangles, circles, squares, rectangles, slopes, and more. In using it we found Step by step is an advanced math calculator that can calculate problems including but not limited to integrals, limits, algebra, etc. This gives more flexibility in solving topics, you can enter any problem you want to solve and its can quickly help you solve and get answers with detailed procedures. The graphing calculator also allows you to choose a calculator based on the topic you want, enter the values, and get the answer. As an integrated calculator, this feature is very handy, because you are often faced with not one type of problem, but various types of graphical problems.

-More

The more column deals more with account information, system settings, and other things that are not related to the main function of the app. But this column also has a feature that is different from CHatgpt, namely the history feature. This feature will keep the questions you have uploaded, so if you want to browse them again, you don’t need to search and wait for them again, you just need to find this feature and check them. This can help you to review or save time.

Summing up

In summary, it seems that the math solver still has its advantages and the future direction of CHATgpt is not to be used as a math solver, maybe it can indeed replace some of the functions of the math solver, but AI software such as CHATgpt is unlikely to completely replace this type of math solver at this time.
