Best Furniture to Use in a Rustic Themed Home

The term rustic is quite broad, but it can include many different design styles. In its most basic definition, rustic describes a design that is natural, rough, aged, and casual, so there are many styles that differ dramatically from one another and can be rustic. Some are Tuscan, coastal, huts or what is traditionally called rustic: hut.

One of the defining characteristics of a rustic home, be it a country house or a seaside town, is the use of natural materials. That means a lot of wood and stone (both in furniture and ceilings / walls) and fabrics like burlap and canvas. Rustic design, at its core, is the use of organic elements in their most natural state. The design is simple, natural, and has an earthy touch. Raw materials are also widespread, so instead of smooth, shiny root wood, you will find more reclaimed and untreated woods and stones. In today’s article we will be talking about the best pieces of furniture you can use in a rustic themed house to make it pop out and have it’s own life.

1. Cozy natural wood dining table:

A large dark wooden dining table is the perfect centerpiece next to the cozy soft carpet. This table invites you to relax with a cup of tea or a cup of cocoa and offers enough space for each guest’s drink. A strong dining table can host a lifetime of dinners.

2. Boho Chic Trunk TV Stand:

A great way to add character to your living space is to use fun accent pieces like this rustic trunk TV stand. In combination with natural light wood, this room has an unconventional touch without being over the top. This design has a healthy balance of contemporary elements mixed with vintage flavors.

3. Comfortable Teak Bed:

Wooden beds are not only known for their rustic appeal but also for their amazing durability. A well built double bed, queen bed, or king bed can become a huge attraction in any bedroom. Be sure to adorn the bed pillows, blankets and covers to give it a well deserved sense of comfort.

4. Industrial Sofa Set:

Industrial and rustic styles go hand in hand. Wood elements with a used look ensure a sturdy look. In contrast to the robust construction, the cushions are padded with structured synthetic leather over comfortable foam padding.

5. Classic Armchair

Beautiful and traditional, an armchair offers the best of mid-century style and rustic charm. In an armchair the frame is made of high quality processed birch, the seat is fully upholstered with a strong microfiber that looks like heavily worn suede. A lumbar pillow included in the scope of delivery provides a little extra support for those quiet mornings with a strong cup of coffee.

The Rustic style of interior design is a very diverse aesthetic. The furniture pieces in this list are a great starting point, however, it is highly advised to experiment. Trying out new furniture and designs, and discovering what goes well together is where the real fun is!
