Best Easy Remodels For Home Flipping Investments

So  you’ve decided the best way to make your money work for you is to start investing in home flipping – good choice! But while it might sound simple, there’s a massive learning curve to this kind of investment; not only will you be surprised just how much time has to go in to remodeling these places to a high enough standard to make a profit, but you’ll also be surprised at the different ways you can find cheap deals and workers to  help you realise your vision for the house.

So if this is your first foray into house flipping, then you won’t be wanting to do anything too complicated where remodeling is concerned – if you bite off more than you can chew then you are liable to get bogged down in details and be unable to complete the remodel on budget or within your timeframe. After you’ve done the obvious such as repainting walls and repairing any damage, you want to do something that sets your house apart and makes it appealing to buyers. For a first time flip, you should focus on some easy remodels you can do with minimal stress.  Below, we’ve created a list of remodels you could focus on at the beginning of your house flipping career.

  1. Perfect those floors

Any old carpets that are giving the place a musty smell and a dingy look have to go – take them all up. Often, you’ll discover nice floorboards underneath which you can sand down and varnish to a high sheen that gives the house a classy, airy atmosphere and which appeals to buyers who can then go in their own direction with the floors without having to get rid of the carpets themselves.

2. Update the kitchen

While you don’t want to change the atmosphere of an old house by doing it up with chrome and glass countertops, that doesn’t mean it couldn’t do with an update – try fitting it out with  some antique off white kitchen cabinets to give it a refresh while maintaining authenticity.

3. Redo the lawn

If the garden in your purchased house is looking a little sparse and scrawny, this massively impacts the overall impression of the house. Lay some fresh turf to give it a spruce up, and leave the rest to the buyer who can put their own imprint on the garden.

4. Perfect the driveway

A dirty or unfinished driveway creates a poor first impression of a house; if the driveway is paved but looking a bit tired make sure to give it a clean with a power washer, or alternatively if we’re talking about a dirt driveway, be sure to remodel it with a few bags of pale gravel to give it a cleaned up look.

So there you have it, if you’re looking to remodel your first house flipping investment but don’t want to do anything too complicated, we hope this list of ideas helps you out
