Crypto.com’s H1 2026 market sizing report counts 774 million people holding crypto, up from about 741 million at the end of 2025. Bitcoin holders went from 364 million in December to 373 million by June. None of that growth reaches your site on its own.
Rand Fishkin’s June 2026 zero-click study, built on Similarweb clickstream data from January through April, found 68% of Google searches ending without a click. Add an AI Overview to the query and the figure hits 83%. Search Engine Land reviewed 6.77 million AI referral sessions and found ChatGPT responsible for 92.4% of them.
That changes what you are buying when you hire an agency. Press coverage still matters, and it now has a second job: feeding the models that answer your buyer’s question before they ever open a tab.

How to tell a growth partner from a media reseller
Plenty of crypto agencies are one person with a Telegram list and a Canva template. A smaller number will move your numbers. The differences are practical.
Their reporting is verifiable. Ask for wallet connections, listing volume, day-30 community retention, and referral traffic split by source. An agency that leads with impressions is hiding something.
Engineering context matters more than most founders expect. A team that has shipped a token contract or run an exchange backend can write documentation a developer will read without wincing. A team that has not produces brochure copy, and your audience can tell inside two paragraphs.
KOL relationships should be contract-backed. Amra and Elma’s 2026 data puts micro creators between 10K and 100K followers at an average 8.3x return against 3.1x for macro accounts. Capturing that spread takes vetting and hard negotiation. A spreadsheet of handles gets you nowhere near it.
Compliance now runs market by market. MiCA sets one bar in Europe. Singapore, the UAE, and South Korea each set another. Ask to see the disclosure template before you sign anything.
Citation deserves its own workstream. Getting quoted inside ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google AI Overviews takes different tactics from ranking, and most agencies are still pretending the two are the same job.

Blockchain App Factory
Of the eleven pages Google’s AI Overview cites for “best crypto marketing agency”, one is Blockchain App Factory’s agency page. Whatever else that proves, the SEO team can do the thing they sell. Roughly 500 campaigns so far. The projects behind them have raised more than $1 billion between them. Day to day that means token launch campaigns, exchange listing promotion, KOL programs, community building, and PR, plus the content work that decides whether a project turns up at all when a buyer asks an AI assistant for options. The company has been doing this since 2013, out of Chennai, with a regional office in Singapore. It takes DeFi protocols, RWA and real estate tokenization platforms, GameFi studios, and NFT projects. Worth knowing as a side benefit: the same company builds tokens, exchanges, and tokenization platforms, so audit timing and listing dates can share a calendar with the campaign.
INORU
INORU has run more than 300 crypto marketing campaigns for over 500 clients. The service list is long: SEO, AI SEO, community management, KOL programs, PR distribution, exchange listing promotion, and token launch campaigns. The part worth paying for is content engineering. Documentation-grade explainers and honest comparison pages with proper schema markup are the assets language models actually cite, and INORU keeps producing them long after launch week. The team also runs community operations in several languages. That stops being optional when Asia-Pacific accounts for around 37.6% of global crypto users and India alone has 156 million.
Coinbound
eToro, MetaMask, Sui, Algorand, Cosmos, Nexo, OKX, Tron. Coinbound has worked with all of them, and with more than 900 Web3 clients in total, on campaigns the firm says have raised over half a billion dollars. The agency started in Southern California in 2018, betting that creators would out-earn paid ads in crypto. In 2018 that was not the consensus view. Today it does influencer campaigns, publisher placements, SEO, PR, social management, and paid media, and it can get a founder quoted almost anywhere that matters: CoinDesk, Cointelegraph, Blockworks, Decrypt. For English-language reach in the US, this is the deepest bench on the list.
MarketAcross
Every protocol eventually has a bad week. An exploit, a depeg, a subpoena, or a founder saying something regrettable on a podcast. MarketAcross is one of the few crypto agencies with a working crisis communications practice, and that alone can justify the retainer for anything custodying user funds. The firm has done blockchain PR since 2014, longer than most of the protocols on its client list have existed, and has worked with over 1,000 companies including Binance, Polygon, and eToro. A standard engagement covers earned media placement and executive thought leadership, plus ongoing community communications. Earned coverage does double duty now. Language models cite third-party editorial more readily than they cite a company blog.
Lunar Strategy
Token sentiment turns inside 48 hours, so a quarterly campaign plan is usually obsolete before the second invoice. Lunar Strategy runs short test cycles and shifts creative and channel budget while a launch is still live. It opened in Lisbon in 2019. Few Web3-native shops in Europe have been running longer. More than 250 crypto ecosystems and projects have come through since then, Polkadot, Internet Computer, and OKX among them. They spend most of their time on paid social, KOL sourcing, content, and community building. The team works under MiCA every day, so European disclosure requirements are routine for them. That saves weeks if part of your user base sits in the EU.
TurnkeyTown
Launch week is the easy part. Damage usually happens in the ninety days after, when the KOL posts stop and the chart does what quiet charts do. TurnkeyTown builds retainers around that window and keeps content and community programming running well past listing day. They work with token projects, DeFi platforms, NFT brands, exchanges, and blockchain companies, and they plan each campaign around the route a buyer actually takes to a decision. Discovery happens on social, and the decision gets made inside a Telegram or Discord, usually after a comparison pass on Google or in an AI chat. The team handles SEO and PR through to KOL work, social media, community growth, and launch marketing.
Crowdcreate
Fundraising and community building draw on the same relationships, and Crowdcreate is built on that overlap. The Los Angeles firm keeps a curated network of crypto VCs and angels alongside its creator roster, so a raise and a public launch can run through one team. It opened in 2014, has completed over 600 projects, and reports around $250 million raised for clients, with a Forbes mention as a top crypto marketing firm. The client list runs wider than most crypto shops manage: Solana, Celo, Lenovo, and the NFL. The bulk of what they bill for is influencer campaigns, community building, PR, and warm investor introductions. Strongest option for pre-seed and Series A teams raising while they launch.
ICODA
Turkey has 25.6% crypto ownership, the highest rate anywhere, and no agency in New York or London has a usable creator network there. Same story in Vietnam, Brazil, and most of the CIS. ICODA runs teams across multiple countries and executes localized KOL campaigns in markets where Western firms are guessing. Thirty verified reviews across Clutch and Trustpilot, all of them 5.0. Read a few and the same subject keeps coming up: reporting. Clients say they can see where the money went. The services are localized influencer work, regional PR, non-English SEO, and exchange listing support. For a project with real users outside North America and Western Europe, this beats paying a bigger agency to subcontract the same job.
What it costs
The industry spends somewhere between $12 billion and $15 billion a year on this. Your share of it, if you are a typical 2026 project, is $10,000 to $80,000 a month spread across KOLs, PR, SEO, community, and paid media. The range is that wide because the word “typical” is doing a lot of work.
Creator rates by tier, per current agency pricing guides:
- Under 10K followers, a creator will quote $500 to $3,000 for a campaign.
- The 10K to 100K band runs $2,000 to $15,000, and this is where the returns are best.
- From 100K to 500K, budget $10,000 to $30,000.
- Anything above 500K starts at $25,000 and can reach $100,000 for a single campaign.
A first program using Tier 3 creators in one market comes to about $10,000 to $20,000 in creator spend, before the agency takes its fee. Two markets and Tier 2 names, and you are looking at $30,000 to $80,000.
Anyone promising a guaranteed exchange listing or a price target is selling you something you should not buy.
Questions for the first call
Ask which three clients most resemble your stage and your chain, then ask to talk to one of them. A real agency will make the introduction inside a week.
Bring up a campaign that failed. What they changed afterward tells you more than any case study on their site.
On AI citation, listen for whether the answer contains tooling or just the word “authority”. Anyone who cannot name what they monitor is not monitoring anything.
Find out who writes the content. If it is a rotating pool of generalist freelancers, your docs will read like they were written by somebody who has never signed a transaction.
Offboarding terms come last and deserve a careful read. An agency that expects to keep you will not bury the exit clause.
What the search results for this query actually look like
We pulled the live SERP for “best crypto marketing agency” in Ahrefs on 3 September 2026. Ahrefs last crawled that result page on 11 August. The shape of it is worth describing, because it tells you how buyers in this category are being served answers.
Google runs an AI Overview above every organic result, and that overview cites eleven pages: Surgence, two separate Istanbul Blockchain Week posts, Coinbound’s homepage, two LinkedIn Pulse articles, Infinite Block Tech, Lunar Strategy, Ventureburn, a HackerNoon roundup written for 2024, and Blockchain App Factory’s crypto marketing agency page. Clutch missed the cut too, and Clutch ranks fourth organically on a DR 91 domain pulling about 1,366 monthly visits to that page.
Below the overview, the first organic listing is position 2, and it belongs to a small site. surgence.io runs a Domain Rating of 32. Sixteen referring domains point at the ranking URL. The page gets roughly 247 organic visits a month. Position 3 is Reddit, where three r/BlockchainStartups threads stack up as sitelinks. That 2024 HackerNoon article still holds position 7.
Keyword difficulty on “best crypto marketing agency” is 7. On the head term, “crypto marketing agency”, it is 54. That gap is the whole opportunity. Volume is modest either way, 350 a month in the US and 900 worldwide, but CPC is $20.00, which tells you what a single click is worth to the agencies bidding on it. Across ten related terms we checked, six now trigger an AI Overview, among them “crypto pr agency” at a $16.00 CPC and “blockchain marketing agency” at a keyword difficulty of 0.
So a DR 32 page can take the top organic slot here, and Reddit threads beat most agency blogs. Links are clearly not the bottleneck on this query. What gets a page into the AI Overview citation set is what the page actually says.
Why citation now sits in the budget
AI referral traffic grew about 975% year over year through 2026. Domains picking up at least one ChatGPT referral went from roughly 71,000 to as many as 260,000 over the same stretch. It converts, too. AI-referred shoppers on US retail sites converted 42% better than non-AI visitors in March 2026.
Crypto feels this before other sectors because the pre-purchase questions map so cleanly onto chat. Which chain is cheapest. Has this been audited. Who is behind it. What happened the last time this team shipped anything.
Whoever you hire, those answers have to exist on pages a model can parse, with dates and names attached. Search Engine Land’s session data puts 92.4% of AI referrals through a single product, so the first thing to do this week is open ChatGPT and read what it currently says about your project.
