Ayurvedic Tips To Minimize Pain in Kidney Failure

The prevalence of kidney diseases is on the rise, now ranking as the ninth leading cause of death. In India, over 2 lakh individuals receive a diagnosis of renal disease annually. Renal failure, commonly known as kidney failure, occurs when the kidneys deviate from their healthy functioning state. This failure can manifest as either a temporary or permanent condition, categorized further into acute or chronic. Acute renal failure is abrupt, while chronic renal failure progresses gradually. Kidney failure ensues when the kidneys struggle to effectively filter waste from the blood and maintain fluid balance. These bean-shaped organs play a vital role in eliminating waste, removing excess water, producing red blood cells, and regulating blood pressure.

Additionally, the kidneys are liable for producing the erythropoietin hormone and synthesizing vitamin D. The two most important reasons for kidney failure are diabetes and excessive blood stress. Kidney failure represents the final level of persistent kidney disease, where the kidneys have ceased functioning and necessitate Kidney Failure Ayurvedic Treatment to regain everyday features.

What is kidney failure?

Working on the root cause of the problem in CRF:

  • This might be diabetes, hypertension, some other autoimmune condition too, which can cause problems with your kidney function. Without treating the primary cause of the problem, no treatment is possible for kidney issues.
  • When your kidney is damaged because of hypertension, we need to target hypertension. And the same is applicable to diabetes and SLE too.
  • We need to focus properly.
  • The same approach we take for the treatment.

Causes of kidney failure

  • Dehydration: low urine volume and not enough intake of water are major risk factors for kidney stone formation. Both of these conditions lead to concentrated urine, meaning there is less fluid to keep salts dissolved.
  • Protein-rich diet: Intake of excess calcium leads to an increase in calcium inside the kidney Calcium is necessary for bone strength, so it is advised to lower salt intake instead of calcium because it helps keep calcium from being reabsorbed from urine.
  • Bowel movement: Indigestion or chronic diarrhea also raises the risk of forming kidney stones because it lowers the urine volume.
  • Obesity: It increases acid levels in the urine, which leads to more stone formation.
  • Modern medicines: Some calcium supplements, vitamin C, and antacids increase the risk of forming kidney stones.

Symptoms of Kidney Failure

  • Itching: experiencing an urge to scratch or a prickly, tingling sensation all over the body, even though there are no visible rashes or marks. Alternatively, the patient may specifically feel a persistent dry itch on their face.
  • Nausea and Vomiting: As a result of an elevation in urea degrees in the bloodstream, a person reviews a sensation of weightiness inside the higher belly location and a loss of appetite.
  • Excessive urine or not enough urine: Changes in urine output occur as kidney function is altered, resulting in either excessive or insufficient urine production. These variations in urine volume serve as indicators of the stage of glomerular filtrate within the body.
  • Muscle cramps, often occurring during the night, primarily affect the lower limbs and can cause significant discomfort that is difficult for patients to endure.
  • Breathlessness: Sometimes, due to decreased urine output, patients develop pleural effusion or low hemoglobin levels due to the non-production of red blood cells in the body.

Ayurvedic Treatment for Kidney Failure

Ayurveda has a three-fold approach to the treatment of kidney failure:

  1. Balancing the Doshas
  2. Working on the primary root cause of the problem.
  3. Regenerating the renal tissue

This Ayurvedic treatment for kidney failure and basic Tips to manage kidney stones can help make CRF better, and we have been studying it for a long time. We need to focus on three things to make the treatment work. I will explain each one so you can understand how it helps with kidney problems.

Balancing Doshas for Kidney Treatment

As we have discussed above, this is not the only dosha responsible for failure of kidney function. The three doshas together are responsible for this. Therefore, the target is all three dots. Different sorts of kidney stones can occur because of imbalances inside the body, with calcium stones being the most common, resulting from an excessive amount of Vata dosha. Less unusual are uric acid stones, as a result of an imbalance in Pitta dosha, and bladder stones, which can increase from common urinary tract infections and are associated with Kapha dosha. Cystine stones, as a result of positive meals, are very rare and have an effect on approximately 1 in every 100 humans. But along with this, we need to take care of the Vata Dosha.

Vata is a prime factor in the body because it is responsible for changes in the body. So we need to work on the Vata dosha, primarily to control the rest of the doshas.

Regenerating the Renal Tissue in Kidney Disease

Nothing can regenerate in the human body, as per the modern medical system. This seems to be a verdict from medical science. But Ayurveda, a different type of medicine, thinks differently. Ayurveda believes that our bodies have the ability to regenerate and heal themselves. They use special medicines to help this process, but it can take a long time for it to work.

There are two types of aggravation of the doshas:

  1. Mildly aggravated dosha: In this kind of aggravation, doshas can be pacified with medicines alone, so for this type, medicines are a choice. If we relate the stages of CRF, this can be the first stage of chronic renal failure. Therefore, the treatment for kidney failure at this stage goes with medicines alone. But panchakarma can be a quicker way to control the condition.
  2. Severely aggravated Doshas: Medicines can certainly handle the condition, but not properly. Panchakarma is the choice for the treatment of chronic renal failure in this condition. Here, Panchakarma is selected according to the prime aggravated dosha. When it is alone, Vata Basti will work, Virechana for Pitta Dosha, and Vamana in the case of the aggravated Kapha. In some conditions, everything works well together. So this all depends on the patient’s condition and complaints. Stages 3 and 4 of the kidney failure treatment work through panchakarma.

So balancing the doshas can help in the proper treatment of the condition. And this is the first stage.

We have a procedure for addressing kidney failure, and it is crucial to have a well-defined plan due to the complexity of the condition. Initially, gathering comprehensive information about the patient, such as age and medical history, is necessary. Additionally, we require medical reports to assess kidney functionality. Once we have obtained all the necessary information, we can determine the most suitable treatment approach. In certain cases, patients can solely rely on medication and online check-ups to enhance kidney function. However, in some instances, it may be necessary for the patient to visit the kidney pain treatment clinic at Dr. Sharda Ayurveda. It is important to note that this treatment is not appropriate for individuals in the advanced stages of kidney failure. The duration of the treatment varies for each patient, and multiple sessions with intervals in between are required. We have hopes that this treatment will contribute to their recovery.
