Are you using Wix, Squarespace or UpWork? Here’s the website cost breakdown

This is a typical problem when you’re starting a company. You need a new website! However, it is not easy to choose the method of building your website. Are you going to make it on your own, or hire someone? What’s the website cost breakdown?

1. Wix, Squarespace, Shopify and Weebly website cost

The website cost built in DIY style (do it yourself) may seem much less than that of hiring someone to do it. But the reality is that you need to take into account multiple factors:

  • cost of time invested
  • cost of learning how to do web design
  • cost of maintaining the website
  • cost of stock photos
  • cost of additional features for your Website like booking, e-commerce, orders, live chat, etc.
  • cost of premium plugins and tools necessary for your business

According to Aleph Website, the website cost using the DIY method is anywhere between

$2,460 – #12,060. Calculating the total price in 5 years.

2. Upwork, Fiverr and Freelancer.com Website Cost

Fiverr is cheaper than Upwork, but less reliable for such big feats as building a website. You might want to use freelancers more for simple tasks. Such as graphic design, promotion design, or developing a landing page.

At any rate, the website cost with freelancers online is between $840 to $61,970. Aleph Website explains that the price differs because some of the freelancers have more experience and charge over $100 an hour, while others just started out, and their price is $15 an hour.

3. Contracting a Digital Marketing agency to build your website

Now, this is the most expensive of all options, but it is the best option too. So if you’re a well-off company expanding your business and in good financial health, we recommend this option.

However, keep in mind that you’ll be talking to professional salespeople who will upsell and cross-sell you as soon as you sign the agreement!

As for pricing, the cheapest and worst website you can get is at a minimum price of $10,000. If you want a better website with multiple features and great web design, such a website costs around $50,000.

No cheap, but these big names and reliable agencies that deliver as promised. To find out more about the pros and cons of working with a marketing agency to build your website, read the article on How much Does it cost to make a Website.
