She used to distribute food and sponsor needy families from an early age which prompted her to participate in the orphan sponsorship project in 2014. The sponsorship project was an act of social solidarity that brought five people together to sponsor an orphan. And some were individually sponsoring a child.

The project started with the help of relatives and friends. Then it expanded and grew until the number of sponsors exceeded 300 persons inside and outside Lebanon. The sponsorship value ranged between $10 and $50 for the sponsored child.

One term of sponsorship is that the child should be fatherless living with his/ her widowed mother or a guardian. After studying the orphan’s case and conducting a field visit to look into his/ her financial situation, the application is to be accepted according to the results of the study.

In 2019, Mission Relief Association was established in Canada under the chairmanship of Ahmad Kabbara to facilitate the sponsorship money transfer to Lebanon, especially after the banking issues Lebanon has been facing recently. In 2020, The Association was registered in Lebanon under license No. (1599/2020).

The number of sponsored children has exceeded 200 orphans. The association distributes food rations in Ramadan, Eid sacrifices, and cold meals all year, including meat, chicken, and other foodstuffs for sponsored families and some needy families. The association also helps to fund the hospital, school, and university costs, thanks to the zakat and charity funds provided by some sponsors, friends, and relatives.

Moreover, one of the association’s achievements is the project of distributing new and high-quality secondhand clothes to a large number of individuals in the community and help-seeker visitors. The Association allocates a share for children. Maamoul, toys, and clothing allowance are distributed on Eid.

Mission Relief expanded its activities beyond the borders of Lebanon by cooperating with the Sanad Association in providing Ramadan food packages and sponsoring orphans in Palestine and Yemen.
