Clarke agrees with this notion and spoke on the importance of setting goals for businesses.
Sharing his time at Macropay, Clarke said that one of the things that gave him focus was setting clear goals. “As I embarked on my business journey, one of the most important things that I learned is that setting goals can lead to great things,” he said. Furthermore, the fintech executive also emphasized that without a clear goal in mind, it’s hard to steer the business in the right direction.

Apart from goals, Macropay’s Adam Clarke also underscored that there should be a balance between strategy and hard work. “Strategy is good, but I’ve seen many entrepreneurs focus too much on strategy and fail to follow through with grit,” Clarke said. Clarke also encouraged CEOs and startup leaders to find this balance and lead their teams by being a great example. He noted that “showing your team how it’s done is the right way to go. You can’t be complacent and expect your team to work harder than you.”

According to Clarke, “standing up again after getting knocked over by failure is the most important part of being an entrepreneur.” Since business is not a one-man game, keeping your employees eager and motivated to go to work is a must. Having perseverance and showing your staff that you will not give up will help keep them motivated.
