Actual tips for students from college graduates

Freshman year can be a great time for lots of people. This is a new chapter in your life, and you will be making a lot of memories that you will cherish for the rest of your life.

For most people, college is the first time they move out of the house, and get that first sense of independence.

This is very important because it is a time where your growth as a person will accelerate because of all these factors.

College will also come with a lot of ups and downs, and it is always good to be prepared so you can live your best college experience.

This article for all the freshmen who are about to start college, and are getting the jitters. Don’t worry, we got your back!

  1. Go to class

This is the most popular advice that is given by graduates. Seriously, go to class.

More importantly, pay attention! It really doesn’t help much if you are making the effort of going to class but are on your phone the whole time.

If you feel the need to pick up your phone every 2 minutes, then try leaving your phone in your room one day.

You will be very grateful to yourself during exam season, when you don’t have difficulty recalling important concepts.

Studying really isn’t that difficult but you have to have made the effort at the right time.

  1. Build a good relationship with your teachers

Go to their office hours, with actual questions. If you are struggling with a lecture, go to them and let them help you.

Being on the teacher’s good books will help you immensely, not only during your college years but also after you graduate.

They will give you some really good advice and also vouch for you in the form of letters of recommendation when you are applying for grad schools.

You will realize that the professors are actually very eager to share their wealth of knowledge that they have accumulated over the years and it can make for some very fun and interesting conversations.

  1. Use library resources to write your essays

You will be writing a lot of essays throughout college, so it is best to know where you can get the best resource from.

The library is packed with material you can use. It is quite unfortunate neither that nor many students know about the abundant databases that college libraries have access to that you can research from.

If you are really running short on time, find out some of the best essay writing service that you can use in desperate times.

  1. Use your laptop to take notes

This is more helpful than you may think. Your typing speed is probably faster than your writing speed, and you will realize that you can take some great notes on your laptop.

If you can, invest in lighter laptop that you can carry to class.
