8 Ways to Accelerate Healing

When an injury sidelines you, the focus is on recovery. No one wants to sit around waiting to get better, and anything you can do, such as use tuning forks to speed up healing and recovery, is always a bonus. There is a fine line between accelerating healing and not recovering well enough. While we are discussing how you can heal better today, we want to place a special emphasis on avoiding cutting your recovery short. It’s a great way to reinjure yourself or exacerbate your condition. As always, you should listen to your medical professionals and heed their advice on how long you should rest, what steps you should take to heal, and what the best ways to recover are. 

There are, however, certain things you can do to speed up the healing process to get back to your normal routine faster. Simply sitting around waiting for your body to heal is certainly an option, but it’s one that will likely make you take the longer route to get back to full health. Here are eight ways you can accelerate healing and overcome your injuries ahead of schedule. 

Stay in Good Physical Condition

Your body will get better faster when it has more available resources it can dedicate to the healing process. If you’re carrying around a bunch of extra weight or you have other ailments, it makes getting better a lot harder on your body. One thing you can do to accelerate the healing process to stay in good shape so that when you are injured, you’re not sidelined for as long. 

If you’re reading this before an injury, then start doing what you can to get in better shape. Your body will thank you the next time it runs into trouble and needs to heal. 

Eat the Right Foods

The right foods will help you heal faster and get back on your feet quicker. Eating things that are rich in vitamins, protein, and other nutrients will give your body the fuel it needs to recover. Ditch the junk food and avoid sugar. Stop drinking as much caffeine so you can sleep better. All the little steps you take related to your diet will pay off when you can go back to work or get your old energy levels back faster.

Sleep and other forms of rest are perhaps the best things you can do to hasten the healing process. When your body is resting, and especially when you’re sleeping, you have more resources and energy available that can focus on fixing your injury or ailments. Your body isn’t sustaining a million functions but instead can treat what’s wrong. Sleep is an excellent way to reduce swelling, ease pain, and reduce stiffness. 

Talk to a Doctor

Of course, if you have any sort of serious injury, you should seek professional medical assistance. A doctor or physical therapist can guide you through the healing process to make sure you don’t make any injury worse or extend the amount of time you will need to fully recover. Look online or ask for recommendations for a doctor or therapist who specializes in the type of injury you’re dealing with. They should have the latest in treatment technology to get you back on your feet. 

Take Vitamins

Vitamins are widely available online and over the counter, and can boost your natural healing process. Things like Vitamin C, D, and other pills can help your body have the proper energy levels needed for true healing.

The peptide IGF1-LR3 has shown some amazing results in clinical tests done on animals when it comes to the healing process. IGF1-LR3 is a modified version of insulin-like growth factor-1 that helps with the healing process. In tests done on rodents, the peptide was shown to improve body weight, nitrogen retention, food conversion efficiency, and other body functions critical to recovery. 

Do Physical Therapy

You can do small exercises to help strengthen your body and make healing more effective. For example, if you injure your knee, it’s often beneficial to strengthen the muscles around the knee to improve stability and make walking easier on your knee itself. Ice Your Injury

Icing your injury, along with frequent rest, can help you heal faster. Ice helps reduce and slow inflammation. When an injury swells, it can limit the range of motion and increase pain. Icing will lower the pain you feel and limit the effects of inflammation. A good rule of thumb is to ice your injury every hour. Make sure to keep resting the injury after you’ve iced it. Sometimes people try to move or put stress on the injury too early because they are numb from having ice on it for too long.
