What exactly are wedding giveaways? More commonly known as wedding favors, wedding giveaways are small, sometimes personalized gifts that are given to the guests of a wedding. They are commonly given out at the reception and are used as a gesture of appreciation to the guests for attending the wedding.

If you are looking for a wedding give always, the DIY variety is often the best choice. They are usually cheaper to make and show your guests that you are putting some thought into the gift. If you need ideas, read on for seven creative wedding giveaways you can put together on your own.

Table of Contents

  • 1.Hangover Kit
  • 2.Custom Flower Vases
  • 3.Mini Canvas Paintings
  • 4.Cider or Cocoa Drinks for the Season
  • 5.Bath Salt Favors
  • 6.Personalized Wine Bottles
  • 7.Mini Succulents

1.Hangover Kit

If your wedding reception will include a lot of alcohol, consider a hangover kit as a giveaway. Leave them at each place setting, or set up a basket of them by the door for guests to grab as they leave. You can customize the small bag itself, or you could attach a personalized tag to each one. Include the following items inside the bag: ibuprofen or acetaminophen, airborne, antacids, single-serve coffee packet, mouthwash, band-aids, a mini bottle of water, protein bar, and eye drops. Your guests will appreciate the gesture the next morning!

2.Custom Flower Vases

You can buy small jars or vases at your local dollar store. Obviously, this is an extremely inexpensive DIY method that will save a lot of money! Next, choose the right color of flourists water pearls to fill up the jar over halfway with. You can find basically every color of the rainbow and then some, so don’t be afraid to match up the color to your wedding colors. From there you can add on anything in your imagination! Top off the jar with pretty flowers, a candle, candy, or anything else you can think of.

3.Mini Canvas Paintings

This is a DIY idea that your guests will absolutely adore. We must warn you- it will take some time on your part! However, you’ll be remembered forever with these fabulous mini canvas paintings. For a small amount, purchase mini canvases that come with their own little easels. You can find them online. Then, get creative. Try to consider each and every one of your guests and what they like. Paint a small picture of something they love, or write them a small poem expressing your gratitude. If you don’t know a particular guest that well, consider writing a sincere thank-you note on the canvas. Your guests will go crazy over such a personalized gift.

4.Cider or Cocoa Drinks for the Season

Again, head to the local dollar store and raid their shelves of all Mason jar cups with handles. Are you having a fall wedding? A wedding giveaway of apple cider will hit the spot. Simply fill the jar with a prepackaged or homemade cider mix and add in a cinnamon stick. Screw the lid on, and then add a ribbon around the top and a personalized message on a sticker to attach to the jar. For winter weddings, do the same thing with prepackaged or homemade hot cocoa drinks. For hot cocoa favors, substitute the cinnamon stick for a peppermint one.

5.Bath Salt Favors

Your guests will be partying until the sun comes up, so why not give them a favor they can use to relax when they are winding down? Order small custom jars online and loose bath salts. You can also buy bath salts in bulk in many retail shops. Fill up the jar and close the lid. Add some craft twine to the lid and a personalized sticker before setting them out.

6.Personalized Wine Bottles

While you will have to order the wine yourself, you can make this giveaway much more personal by adding a few creative touches. Purchase wine glasses from the dollar store and set the wine bottles inside, or include a corkscrew as a gag. You can also go the extra mile by adding a hangover kit to the bottle.

7.Mini Succulents

Everyone loves plants, but people love plants that are especially hard to kill. That’s why mini succulents are super popular for wedding favors. Use colored gravel, sand, or water pearls to match the theme of your wedding, then add the plant on top. You can buy inexpensive succulents in bulk pretty online.
