5 Conditions that the Koren Specific Technique Can Help Alleviate

According to the American Chiropractic Association, chiropractors treat over 35 million people each year.

If you’re interested in seeing a chiropractor, they may end up using a Koren Specific Technique on you to heal you.

But what is it? And what is it used to treat? Make sure that you keep reading to find out all you need to know about it!

What Is It?

The Koren Specific Technique is used in specialized chiropractic care. It was first brought to light in 2003 by Dr. Tedd Koren. He was working on a way to use chiropractics to ensure that patients feel better and stay better for longer.

He came up with a system that involves three steps: analyzing the body, determining the problem of alignment, and then correcting it.

Since 2003, this has changed chiropractic and has been studied in all kinds of clinical trials and studies. They’ve looked to see if this method is gentle, works and if it lasts.

And a lot of scientists have proven that it does all around the world.

How it Works

If your chiropractor uses this method, there are three general steps.

First, they’ll need to “Challenge” your body or analyze it. By challenging it, they will see how the body reacts to moving in different directions to see if anything is out of alignment.

The chiropractor may also just look at your body visually and be able to tell if something is out of alignment. This may include looking at your sternum, hips, feet, legs, skull, shoulder, and spine.

Next, they will “Check.” They will feel if there’s a specific alignment issue somewhere in the body that they need to correct.

If there is, they will work on “Correct,” which is the next step. They will generally correct one area using a tool called an AthroStim.

The FDA approved this device twenty years ago, and since then, it’s been refined and improved.

This tool works to align the spine again by using a force of about twelve taps per second. This may sound painful, but it’s actually very gentle. It also involves no cracking or twisting of your bones or joints.

Conditions It Can Help

While most people probably have not heard of this method, it can actually help to treat a few common things.

That includes chronic pain, like low back pain, mental issues, subluxations, moved discs, or even TMJ.

1. Low Back Pain

Lower back pain is one of the most common reasons that people go to a chiropractor.

Some research has shown that manipulating the spine can actually help with that back pain. And the Koren Specific Technique can be a way to focus on healing areas specifically in the lower back.

2. Mental Issues

The mental and physical parts of your body are very closely linked, and many people actually find relief by using KST.

For example, you may be holding knots of stress somewhere in your body, but by using their instrument, they can help to work out those knots of stress so that you’re not holding onto them.

3. Correct Subluxations

If you have nerve stress in your body, it can end up ruining your spine or your body structure.

This stress is often called a subluxation, and KST can help to get rid of it, which helps you feel better emotionally and physically.

4. Moved Discs

You may not even realize that you had a disc that was out of place until you see a doctor who specializes in KST.

People who have suffered for years say that they suddenly felt no symptoms after KST because it fixed the root of the problem.

5. TMJ

TMJ happens when the joints in your jaw don’t align properly, and it can cause your jaw to pop in and out.

There are not really many good treatments for TMJ, except for extensive surgery but even that isn’t recommended sometimes.

However, KST can actually help to alleviate some of the symptoms by making sure that everything is aligned.

Benefits of This Technique

Aside from healing these common ailments, using this method actually offers a lot of other benefits as well!

For example, it doesn’t use a lot of force to work. You may not like having a lot of pressure applied to your body, so you may want to try using this technique.

Or if you’ve been to a chiropractor for a while but nothing has worked, you may want to try this type of technique. This works for patients who say that it never works as well for them.

You can also rest assured that this works because when a chiropractor goes to get treatment from another chiropractor, this is the type of method that they want to be done on them because it’s so effective and painless!

Lastly, it can be done on anyone, regardless of their age. This can be used on a toddler or an elderly person because it doesn’t require a lot of pressure, so it can’t hurt them.
