4 Top Mobile App Trends that will be Soon Be Out of Fashion

Change is synonymous with technology. The more your business is open to change, the better it would be for your business. And if your business is faster in accommodating these changes, rest assured your business will experience more rapid growth. Even in the mobile app development domain, trends keep changing time and again.

Here I have listed the top 4 trends that will be out of fashion in no time.

#1. Manual Typing on Phones would be out of fashion

Apps these days come with type and search features. The feature helps the user to type in their requirements, browse, and then select their preferences. No more! In 2021, manual typing will be taken over by voice typing. While it takes a minute to type 30-40 words, it could easily go up to 100-130 words for voice typing.

In the case of voice typing, the user’s speech gets converted to text with a speech recognition tool’s aid. The software converts your speech to text. By enabling voice search in the apps, users simply have to speak about their phone requirements. This saves user’s effort, and more importantly, make apps user-friendly.

The feature is will be very useful in the current times when people are juggling office work and house chores simultaneously. They may need to send long and descriptive messages in the middle of the housework. With voice typing message facility, communication and multitasking become easier.

Even on chatting apps sending voice messages will be the norm. Therefore, voice typing will be trending in times to come.

#2. Fingerprint Sensor would be out of fashion

The launch of the fingerprint sensor added a layer of security to your phones and apps. Though the concept was launched on phones first, it was also added to the apps later on. The feature was very useful in transactional and banking apps.

Fingerprint authentication, also referred to as Touch ID, works well when you place the thumb/finger on the phone screen. It considers the skin’s fingerprint and pores and checks whether they are identical with your initial fingerprint submission. If they match, the app gets opened.

It’s a safe way of logging in and removes any scope of fraud. However, there’s a catch: it doesn’t work if your hands are wet or when wearing gloves. Yes, you could log in only with dry and clean hands.

With the global spread of coronavirus, wearing gloves for many has become non-negotiable.

So, how could you then place your thumb and finger on the phone screen for identification? Even removing gloves to give fingerprints won’t go down well with people.

On the other hand, using face-scanning seems more authentic and convenient than Touch ID.

This means just a fingerprint sensor won’t be enough to ensure security. In the coming year, app development companies need to consider face sensor more than the thumb impression.

#3. Chatbots would be out of fashion

Customer satisfaction is a top priority for businesses these days. And why not? It’s the former that keeps the latter in businesses. And with competition on the rise, you need to be constantly on your toes to meet customer demand. This is where chatbots help.

A chatbot is an artificial intelligence system that conducts chats with customers in a natural way. It studies buyer’s persona before communicating with them.

Going by its growing importance, the majority of the phone apps come integrated with chatbots. It keeps customers on track and draws sales.

However, in the coming years, chatbots might pave the way for virtual bots on the phone app. It’s being said that virtual bots would communicate better and will always be on display for the customer to interact with.

In chatbots, the conversation depends on the algorithm for suggested answers to the query. Quite the contrary, in virtual bots, the flow of communication will be free between the user and the bot. Sure enough, the making of virtual bots is a complex and maybe even a costly affair. However, in the coming years, it’s undoubtedly, going to replace chatbots.

#4. Mobile Payments will be out of fashion

As it turns out, 90% of phone users are comfortable with mobile payments.

It is expected that there’ll be 60 million US dollar sales via mobile payments by the end of 2020.

Now, the tech world will take the mobile payment system a notch higher with the wallet system. The wallet system is one of the emerging trends in phone apps and will soon mobile payments. Some of the known wallet system examples include AmazonPay, RazorPay, Zomato Gold, etc. are examples.

An E-wallet is filling the wallet with the desired amount and then uses it for any payments through the app’s wallet. This does away with OTP authentication and makes payment systems faster. More importantly, it wins the trust of the customers.

There you go! 4 important trends that will be history in no time!  If you want your app development firm to have a future, better write off these trends sooner than later and take to those that are the future of mobile app development.
