4 Critical Mistakes Church Leaders Should Avoid in Post-Covid World

There was a time when we didn’t want to think for a second before visiting any place or traveling to any other country. But the attack of COVID 19 changed everything. People got locked up in their homes and were allowed to go out only for certain emergencies. Schools, shopping malls, and even churches were closed for people. But thankfully now the situation has got better and slowly things have started falling into the place again. People have started roaming around with some precautions and other facilities have also been permitted access by people.

With the year 2021 many countries have finally come out of the difficult times and become ready to face the post-pandemic world. But this end of the pandemic has also come with a lot of precautions and restrictions. You still need to wear a mask at some places or carry the sanitizer wherever you go to sanitize yourself. Considering this many churches such as Planetshakers church have also decided to welcome their visitors again post-pandemic. But since there is always a scope of infection if you be in the crowd, church leaders need to take care of few things. You might make a mistake by not following certain policies or precautions in the post-pandemic situation. Here is the guide which would help you to understand the mistake that you should avoid being a church leader.

Allowing all the church leaders at one place

The most important precaution that people need to follow even after the pandemic is to avoid social gatherings. Hence most of the institutes and stores follow this and allow only a certain number of people in their premises at a time. This applies to the church as well. There are hundreds of people who tend to gather in the church at a time. Though you can not completely control the number of visitors you can certainly work on the number of church leaders present during the sermons. Many church leaders do this mistake and allow all of them to be present during the prayers which can increase the chances of infection.

Not taking the help of a digital hand

COVID 19 has taught people to take the help of digital media to build up and run their businesses during a pandemic. Do you know that being a church leader not taking the help of a digital hand can prove to be a big mistake for you in this pandemic? Out of every 10 people, 7 uses online media to check the latest updates, news, and happenings around the world. Social media has become an important platform for people to get updates from their favorite institutes regularly. Being a church leader, you can take the initiative and build the social media presence of your church. You can start posting updates regarding the activities in the church and the various voluntary programs conducted by you. This will help people to stay updated about your church and will also help to increase the number of visitors to the church.

Providing In-person service

Talking about online service churches have always given the option to their visitors to get either in person or online service. With online service, one can get the live stream of the happening around the church which is generally done on Sundays. With this people do not have to come out of their house to visit the church. But few church leaders prefer to offer the in-person service even during this post-pandemic phase. You would need to understand the possible consequences and make sure to offer only online service till the time things get settle down. You can even provide the visitors the link to the prayers or songs which they can recite at the comfort of home.

Judging the people based on your instructions

Being a church leader, you might expect people to follow what you ask for. But this expectation could be harmful in the post-pandemic phase. For example, if you ask people to visit the church every day which they cannot due to the post-pandemic situation then it can turn them down and they might not consider visiting it again. Make sure not to judge the people in the way of their reaction to your advice or instructions. People need love and help in this tough time and hence make sure to embrace them.
