3 ways to improve the efficency of your content team

Thanks to various tools available online in the SaaS model, you can try different ways to improve teamwork. What are the most interesting ones, and how else can you influence the team’s efficiency?

The ability to work in a team is as valued as many hard skills. However, the competencies may not be enough. The efficiency of teamwork depends on many factors. Aside from the skills and attitude of its members, it can also be influenced by the work environment, project management model, and the selection of tools. How to improve it without restructuring the team? Here are some ideas on which fields to work on.

#1 Rethink your project management methodology

Although you may have heard differently, there is no magic solution that could make any team work more efficiently. Currently, agile is much more popular than waterfall – but it doesn’t mean that it will work for everybody. The choice of the project management methodology depends on various factors – from the project’s goals, through the team members’ competencies, to the flexibility of the work environment.

In recent years, Scrum methodology is receiving a lot of attention due to great results – not only in the IT sector. A cross-functional approach can be a way to make out the team members’ potential, while working in sprints speeds up the process. It’s worth remembering, however, that it’s suitable for small teams.

A qualified project manager should be able to analyze the pros and cons of every approach and choose the right methodology.

#2 Facilitate collaborative editing with WYSIWYG editor

To work efficiently remotely, it’s worth investing in a WYSIWYG HTML editor with all the features that enable real-time collaboration. Collaborative editing features of the code editor may include:

  • users presence list
  • track changes
  • real-time caret position and text selection

It’s worth searching for a rich text WYSIWYG editor with a modular architecture that enables adding and removing functionalities and implementing them in your CMS to create the content for your web pages. These premium features in a WYSIWYG HTML editor will be a plus:

  • automated proofreading
  • export to Word and PDF
  • revision history
  • markdown support
  • split screen preview
  • API documentation

WYSIWYG HTML editors (acronym from what you see is what you get) enable editing the HTML page without knowing the programming languages. With it, you can follow changes in the user interface in real time. That facilitates a lot! At the same time, a SaaS solution provides you much more possibilities than the random online editor.

#3 Use task management solutions

They can help your team members to collaborate more efficiently by creating tasks, determining milestones and goals, and setting up deadlines. You can follow the project development using timelines and creating workflow in different contexts.
