Around two-thirds of employees say they waste a lot of time at work. There are many reasons that an employee might waste time on the clock. One of the big potential reasons is that there are issues with workflow management.

So what are some ways you can adapt your project management strategy to increase productivity? This article lists three great techniques for improving workflow management at your company.

  1. Workflow Automation

Various automation processes are set to transform the world of work in the next few years. The way automation works is simple. You use computer software to take control of a repetitive task. If the software is programmed correctly, the computer will complete the task automatically – much more quickly and efficiently than a human could. JAMS workload automation software runs, monitors, and manages jobs and workflows.

This makes automation processes great for handling repetitive and tedious tasks. One of the big reasons that employees start slacking off at work is because they feel like their work isn’t challenging or engaging enough.

Automation processes allow your workers to free themselves from some of these more mindless tasks and focus on more exciting work.

  1. Extensive Documentation

Another way you can improve productivity in your workplace is by having procedures in place for documentation. If a worker does something that might need to be repeated in the future, they should document that process extensively. For example, if someone uses rcm software, they should document the process they use.

If someone is working on complex software, it can often be challenging to understand why they did something the way they did. The solution is to have a standard system of documenting the process so other people can easily replicate it in the future.

In some cases, a lack of proper documentation can result in having to bring in an expensive consultant. Not only does this waste time, but it also wastes money. Avoid this by having stringent requirements for documenting processes.

  1. Hybrid Work Format

One of the major developments that came from the COVID-19 crisis is hybrid work. This is when employees can work both from home and from the office. In many cases, meeting in person is preferable, but it isn’t always necessary.

Long commutes drain employees of energy that could have otherwise gone into their work. Hybrid work formats result in better work/life balance and greater productivity.

Of course, it takes a certain amount of management and organization to get this kind of workflow working optimally. Using software such as Microsoft Teams is a great way to facilitate a hybrid work format.

Workflow Management is Key to Productivity

Quite often, properly managing your company workflow is just as important as having good workers and good ideas. Taking the time to develop the right workflow management strategy could save your company a huge amount of time and resources in the long run.
