If you own and drive a shuttle bus, you may have already noticed how it differs from a regular bus. While both drive along a certain route to take people from one location to another, a shuttle bus is usually confined to large airports or else to a route that passes by specific hotels after leaving the hotel. Because of this, shuttle buses often have more luggage space than regular buses do, in exchange for not carrying as many passengers.
However you came to own a shuttle bus, there may come a time where you’ll be considering selling it. When that happens, it helps to know where to go so you can find potential buyers for that used vehicle. You can advertise having a used shuttle bus for sale online, of course, but you may find yourself waiting a long time for someone to contact you. That said, here are the best places to go or advertise to, because you’re sure to find at least one interested buyer.
Airports
As mentioned earlier, airports – especially larger ones – periodically use shuttle buses to bring passengers from one area to another. Not only does such a service expedite travel, but it makes a passenger’s experience in that airport more comfortable and convenient. After all, if your boarding gate is one of those furthest from the check-in counters, wouldn’t you rather sit back and relax while a bus takes you there instead of walking there and getting tired in the process?
With that in mind, it’s easy to see why airports would be at the top of the list when it comes to finding buyers. An addition to their fleet is always welcome, since it would mean passengers won’t have to wait too long for a bus to roll up, and their fleet drivers won’t be under pressure to finish one round trip as quickly as possible.
Hotels and Resorts
Luxury hotels and resorts typically offer a shuttle bus service to make it easier for guests to check in on the first day of their stay, and then later check out and head over to the airport on the last stay. As with airports, the goal of this service is to ensure comfort and convenience.
Even if a hotel or resort offers a certain number of trips in a day e.g. two in the morning, then two more in the afternoon, adding another shuttle bus to their fleet is a good idea. Having at least one extra bus means less stress if one of the buses scheduled for the day doesn’t start, has problems with the brakes, and other mechanical issues.
Tour Companies
Some tour companies collaborate with hotels or airports – or both – since it’s more efficient to make just one or two stops to pick up guests at the beginning of the tour. So it would make sense for the company to have a shuttle bus or two, even if they’re used only at the start and at the end of each tour to bring guests to and from the hotel.
Again, you can always advertise online, say, on social media platforms or through a buy-and-sell website, and there’s nothing wrong with doing so. But targeting businesses that are part of the tourism and travel industry will increase your chances of finding a buyer sooner rather than later.
