Don’t Take Sales for Granted
In doing more to sell your company to consumers, here are three keys to keep in mind:
- Salespeople – Having the right salespeople is critical to a smooth-running sales process. That said are you confident you do have the right folks in place? When hiring for your sales team, be sure experience is not the only thing you look for. As important as experience is, being able to connect with consumers on a one-on-one basis is key too. You can have someone great with numbers and pushing your brand. If they have a bad personality, it can kill a potential sale on the spot. You also want to hire salespeople with motivation. Going the extra mile for the company is key. Last, you want salespeople with the ability to be team players. Making your sales team better is something each member should strive to do.
- Resources – Be sure you have all the resources in place for your sales department to be effective. Technology plays a big role here. That is why you want to have the latest sales tech resources in play. For example, properly keeping commissions recorded is crucial. What sales person is going to want to go the extra mile for you if they are not getting the right commissions? From an accurate sales spreadsheet to other needs, make sure your sales team is equipped.
- Outreach – You also can’t sleep on outreach to current and prospective customers. Make sure you are doing all you can to market all your brand has to offer. If you are not doing so, you could be missing out on more sales and revenue. When this happens, your competition can be taking advantage of the situation. Along with your website, your social media outreach is important. Make sure you are engaging in social networking whenever you get the opportunity. Do you have a business app? If not, now would be a good time to think about getting one. An app can give you that 24/7 connection with consumers. When you have this, you have the ability to sell to them whenever and wherever. Do you offer an online store? With so many consumers shopping from home and the workplace, an online store is a great means of revenue. Finally, be active in your community. If you are a small business, this takes on added importance. You can sponsor local groups and more. You can also help other businesses in town. By doing this, you will be seen as a positive brand in your area.
In doing all you can to move your sales forward, are there things you need to do starting today to achieve this?
If so, get to it and those sales are likely to follow.
