20 examples of the new trends in celebrating a stag do

The old days when celebrating a stag do was a just a stroll to a nearby pub are long gone. Nowadays the stag companies offer a broad range of adrenaline rush activities and plenty of destinations to choose from. Therefore more and more stag parties are opting for adventurous activities such as white-water rafting, zip-lining, and bungee jumping,  and the list of ideas is expanding in a fast pace

  1. Escape rooms and scare houses- escape rooms and scare houses have seen a growing trend in popularity, and stag do operators more and more often include them nowadays in their list of activities. Both options give you a chance to immerse into a fictional reality, practise some teamwork and can be a great opening of a night out.
  2. Glamping: Instead of traditional hotel accommodations, many stag dos are choosing to stay in luxury glamping tents or cabins. It’s still a niche for lads weekends away, since the majority of groups prefer to be located in the city centre and be surrounded by bars and other attractions, but even stag do groups after Covid lock down tend to look for more contact with unspoilt nature.
  3. Brewery tours: Visiting local breweries and sampling craft beers has become a popular activity for stag parties. Eastern and central Europe has been undergoing a true craft beer revolution for the last decade, with new breweries opening up even in smaller towns, and with craft beer festivals annual celebrations. Poland in particular has seen some great rise of demand for craft beers, and also one of the Europe’s best festivals called “Chmielaki” is organised in Poland in Krasnystaw town. As much as the town is small and not really worth visiting on its own, the festival attracts over 100 different craft breweries from all around Poland and is a great gig to attend.
  4. Virtual experiences: With the rise of virtual reality, some stag do organizers are offering virtual experiences like escape rooms or gaming tournaments.
  5. Wellness retreats: Some lads groups are starting to prioritize wellness activities like yoga, meditation, and spa treatments, although this is still very rare.
  6. Foodie experiences: Cooking classes, food tours, and wine tastings are becoming more and more popular
  7. Competitive sports: Stags are enjoying activities such as bubble football, paintball, and go-karting for a competitive edge.
  8. Music festivals: Attending music festivals or concerts as a group is becoming a popular choice
  9. City breaks: Instead of just one wild night out, many bachelor groups are opting for longer city breaks with a variety of activities and experiences.
  10. Cultural experiences: Some groups are looking to immerse themselves in local culture and history, with activities like city tours, museum visits, or cultural events.
  11. Retro gaming: Retro arcade games and vintage console games like Nintendo are making a comeback and becoming a popular activity.
  12. Outdoor cinemas: Outdoor cinemas, where you can watch a movie under the stars, are becoming a trendy option to start a night out
  13. Axe throwing: Axe throwing venues are popping up all over the place and becoming a popular choice for stag parties looking for a new activity.
  14. Charity events: Some groups are choosing to participate in charity events such as charity runs or fundraising challenges. One such event is for example the Krakow Rugby Festival– an annual rugby gig with unlimited beer pitch-side served throughout the weekend and a great party agenda
  15. Virtual pub quizzes: Pub quizzes have become increasingly popular during the pandemic, and some stag parties are now opting for virtual pub quizzes as a fun group activity.
  16. Themed parties: Themed parties, such as 80s or superhero themed parties, are becoming more popular among lads looking to do something different.
  17. Private dining: Private dining experiences, such as a chef’s table or a private room in a restaurant,
  18. Whiskey tastings: Whiskey tastings are becoming a trendy option for stag parties looking to sample some of the finest whiskeys from around the world.
  19. Survival weekends: Survival weekends, where you learn survival skills such as building fires or shelter, are becoming a popular choice for stag parties looking for an adventure.
  20. Motorized sports: Stag parties are increasingly choosing motorized sports such as quad biking, hovercrafting, or off-road driving as a fun activity for the group.
