Photobox has made it easier than ever for you to order quality photo gifts right from your phone but that’s not our topic here.

In this article, we will be learning about some skills to make your Photobox photography better than ever, so, here goes….

1. Good Posture

Shaky and blurry photos kill the essence of photography and the reason for that is bad camera holding. It is worth checking your posture while holding the camera. The more stability there is, the better it will come through your photography. A good posture will also help you using Photobox to a much better extent. So, control your movement, balance your grip, keep your elbows tucked and hold your breath to have the maximum out of your photo.

2. Know Your Camera

A professional photographer is professional because he knows how to control his camera. They always let the camera do the thinking for them. Allowing the camera will get you really close to what you actually want to achieve. You need to understand the essential features of your camera and lens. You should have knowledge of aperture and shutter speed and how they will affect the image. Based on what your camera has, you can get to know all there is need to know about white balance, focusing, and stabilization modes.

3. Know Your Lighting

Light and photo are directly related. Without light, there is no photo and without a photo, there is Photobox. To become a master photographer, you need to understand the technical aspects of lighting. Always examine the light before you shoot. It all depends on lighting conditions about which tools you are using for a particular photoshoot. In this way, you can take more control over your camera and the camera will take control of your image.

4. Understand Exposure

Now you have taken control of aperture, shutter speed, lighting and known their effect on photos, so put them all together to get a good exposure. It is a tricky thing for some people about what they meant by exposure. To me, it’s the intensity of light falling on photographic film when it is exposed. When the image is brighter than you want, it is called overexposed and when it is darker, it is called underexposed. You need to have the appropriate settings of the camera just to have the right exposure.

5. A Good Focus

Well, all great photographers do have one thing in common i.e. a sharp and clear focus. Understanding how to focus on your lens is critical. It doesn’t matter whether you achieve the focus by camera blur or by low shutter speed. You can have the ‘autofocus’ option or you can have the focus adjusted manually every time you start having photos. Along with ‘autofocus’, you can also try some new shooting accessories like monopods and tripods as well.

6. Depth of Field

Now, we get to some practical parts of being a good photographer. Depth of field is something that many photographers underestimate which is equally important for Photobox. You get to learn it by experience. Even at the basic level, you will start your journey of transformation to a good photographer. It will help you adjusting important details that you’ll be missing in certain instances. For example, you want to have a blur in the background image, you just need to decrease the aperture value.

7. Equipment Care

A good technical photographer always takes good care of the equipment he has as taught by Photobox. Cameras and lenses are expensive equipment so show them some respect. You can use some maintenance practices for your equipment. Always use the camera strap even if it doesn’t belong to the same manufacturer. The lens cap is something many photographers forget to put on and expose the lens to dust and rain. Don’t speak the dirt off the lens by touching it. Clean the dirt and moisture as soon as possible.

8. A Proper Perspective

A proper perspective is perhaps the least discussed topic when it comes to photography. A perspective has to do everything with the relationships of camera features and equipment. A perspective determines where you get to position yourself before taking a photo. It definitely requires practice and experimentation. Perspective is not changed by focal length. Wide-angle lenses capture a wider amount of scenes which is obvious but no change in perspective occurs. It is a complex but not an unachievable thing.

9. Camera’s Manual

Well, the camera’s manual is probably the least important thing in the eyes of many photographers to be. It is an understood fact that you have to read the instruction manual of every piece of equipment before you start using it. But it is sad that many photographers just take the camera out of the box and start shooting. In this way, you’ll most definitely miss some very important functions that will benefit your photography. You can search online if you don’t understand something or some feature from a manual. It is even better to have some sample photographs with every camera setting to get a clear picture.

10. Post Processing

Photographers have different views on post-processing making it a bit controversial topic. Some believe that it is a waste of time while many others have the opinion of it being a really important tool for image quality. It is a creative technique which is around for quite some time now. In the era of digital photography, post-processing has become even more important. When you take digital photos, the images are far from originality and post-processing brings back that originality to the pictures.
