Dal Kichadi

Can you find a home that doesn’t prepare dal kichadi? The easiest one that doesn’t cause too much elbow grease when you cook it in a cooker. Here is what you have to do, rinse dhal and rice and transfer them onto the cooker, add the desired vegetables, pour sufficient water, and cook this for 8 minutes or 5 whistles. Once settled, drizzle some ghee and garnish with your tadka. 

Mutter Paneer

A good side to go with rice or chapati, this recipe is preferred by all. To make this in a cooker, simply add a tablespoon of oil to your cooker, then top it off with onion and tomato puree, to this add your green peas and paneer and pressure cook it for 20 mins. Instant mutter paneer is ready. 

Kheer

Everyone loves a good kheer, especially after having a spicy feast. Of all the desserts, this can be cooked using a pressure cooker in under 15-20 mins. Simply add soaked rice into the cooker along with milk and leave it on for about 15 minutes. Once done, add sugar and simmer it for another 5 minutes. There you have, a delicious kheer in no time. You can garnish this with fired kismis and cashews.  

Veg Stew

Who wouldn’t crave a hot cup of stew poured over an appam on a rainy day? And to get the stew done in a cooker in no time. Add a spoonful of oil to your cooker, along with spices (whole) like cinnamon, cardamom, and cloves. Sauté onions, carrots, and potato for 5 mins, pressure cook this with just enough water. Once done, add coconut milk (thin milk 1st then thick) and garnish with curry leaves. 

Baingan Aloo

A perfect pair for any Indian bread, would you believe it if we told you, that you can cook this in a pressure cooker? Just add evenly diced brinjal and potatoes to your cooker, to this, add a spoonful of oil, coriander powder, turmeric powder, redchillii powder, curry leaves, and sufficient water. Cook for 3-4 whistles. 

Rajma Masala

An excellent curry to go with rice, rajma when cooked in a cooker is all the more hassle-free. Add a cup of overnight-soaked rajma to your cooker. To this, you can add diced potatoes, onions, and tomatoes. Add a cup of water and throw in a spoonful of coriander powder, turmeric, and chili powder. Close the lid and cook for 4 whistles, serve hot. 

Dhal

A curry that is cooked almost every day in an Indian kitchen to go along with roti or rice or simply have as soup. Wash, soak dhal, and add them to your cooker, pour sufficient water, and add a teaspoon of turmeric powder, diced onions, tomatoes, green chilies, and salt to your taste. Cook for 4 whistles. Serve hot. To enhance the flavour, you can add a pinch of fenugreek leaves and tadka. 

Aloo Gobi

A go-to dish for bachelors as it can be whipped up easily in a cooker. To a spoonful of oil, add diced onions, tomatoes, green chilies, evenly diced cauliflower, and potatoes. To this add masala powder, turmeric, and chili powder. Add just enough water and cook for 3 whistles. 

Mutton curry

It is known that mutton curry is not as simple as others. The process of cooking is longer. Well, let us break that shall we, heat oil in your cooker. to this add all the whole spices, diced onions, green chili, and ginger-garlic paste, and cook until the onions are sautéed. Next in goes the tomatoes, mutton, and meat masala with sufficient water. Pressure cook for 6 to 7 whistles.

Butter Chicken

Every non-veg lover’s favourite. This is a common dish consumed on a daily basis. To your cooker add, tomato puree, ginger garlic paste, turmeric powder, coriander powder, red chili powder, and butter and pressure cook for 10 minutes. Once the pressure is released, grind this into a past and add fried chicken to get yummy butter chicken. Add cream and check to season.
